If you finish above Chelsea, you win the league. It's that simple IMO.

The two sides are, as it stands, still some way ahead of the rest.

I do think United will scrap for 3rd with Arsenal though, simply because they have Van Gaal - a manager that actually has tactical nous unlike Moyes. Dont under estimate (not you specifically) the sheer difference in quality between Moyes & Van Gaal - it's light years.

Rodgers' Liverpool benefitted from no European distractions last season and challenged right up until the last minute before they bottled it. I don't see why United couldn't do similar but they need a couple more players - certainly 2x CB and 1x CM.

Personally I am just edging towards Chelsea, mainly because like you say Mourinho is in his the 2nd season and has made some astute signings:

1. Chelsea
2. Man City
3. Arsenal
4. Man Utd
5. Liverpool
6. Tottenham
7. Everton

Of course I am biased, but I don't see us finishing below 1st again.

The only reason it was so close last year was that Sergio was out for long spells and Jovetic wasn't fit.

Had they both been available, the League would have been done and dusted long before May.

It's all about opinions, but have Chelsea really improved that much?

A lot of it will depend on Diego Costa. If it clicks with him, that'll be the difference IMO, as Chelsea seriously lacked up top last year.

I agree on missing Aguero doesn't help, however there is no guarantee he will stay fit, and the same applies to Jovetic I suppose.

People go on about it bejng mourinho's 2nd season! Its also pellers and that was his first season in english football not his 4th I can see us being even better this season and has it as been said if we have better luck with injurys to kompany yaya nasri silva aguero jovetic then I see us at least equaling the 2 trophies we won last season!

1 man city
2 chelsea
3 arsenal
4 liverpool/man united

After the first 10 games I expect the scum to be top with those fixtures!

First 2 months of the season the media will be in full wankathon if you thought pre season was bad I predict we haven't seen nothing yet!!

Costa has also had big injury problems recently.

Only got ourselves to blame; concentrating on the League at the expense of the Intergalactic Cup!
The press meltdown is going to be like nothing we've ever seen this season. Forget the Busby Babes, it's now Turtle's Tots!

By the way out of respect they're now known in the media as "Louis Van Gaal's Manchester United".
Please note in all future correspondence.
Very true. The media will be truly wanking themselves when he takes on Jose Mourinho's Chelsea (if they even bother mentioning Chelsea). In the build up to that game, I wouldn't be surprised if the media bill it as a one on one battle of the minds, completely ignoring that it's a sporting contest with actual footballers involved.

This year is going to be fucking unbearable with the media love in for King Louis, Jose Mindgames and Brentan Rodgers. Even if we win the league, we will still have to put up with 24/7 media coverage of them bitching about everything and getting handjobs in the press conferences when they narrowly beat relegation candidates. I can't stand what football is becoming from that point of view, the managers theatrics seem to have become more important than the sport. It's turning into WWF wrestling

Let the besmirching begin!

Just watched the game from last night and, if they choose to watch it, Mourinho and Pellers will be laughing their bollocks off. It was a pile of shite, Liverpool never looked like scoring other than from the penalty spot (no change there then) and Man U always looked likely to concede a penalty. Rooneys 'wonder goal' was anything but, piss poor defending and he had one option, which was to side foot it, and it went in. To be fair, Wenger's probably breathed a sigh of relief having watched that because neither team is any better than Arsenal and no where near as good as City or Chelsea.

No word of a lie, I got a text from a rag mate this morning that said the prem and fa cup next......
I texted back and said don't you lot call the fa cup a mickey mouse cup now?
Got the usual bitter blue **** text back....
Good to see they haven't lost their sense of humour....
