btw, whatever happened to the next potential England star Januzaj? A few months ago the press were desperate for him yo play for Engerland because he scored two goals against a crap team and was therefore assumed to be the next Big Thing?

Not that I care, except that the press make me sick

He'll probably be on loan at Swansea this time next year and that we'll be the last we hear about him

HOMEGROWN TALENT RANKING October 2014
1. Barcelona - 43 (13 still at the club; 30 in top five Euro leagues)
2. Manchester United - 36 (12; 24)
3. Real Madrid - 34 (8; 26)
4. Lyon - 33 (15; 18)
5. Paris Saint-Germain - 27 (5; 22)
OTHER ENGLISH CLUBS
9= Arsenal - 22 (7; 15)
34= Aston Villa - 14 (6; 8)
45= Tottenham Hotspur - 12 (6; 6)
45= Southampton - 12 (4; 8)
45= Chelsea - 12 (3; 9)
45= Manchester City - 12 (1; 11)
It makes sense to develop home grown talent. That's why City are investing in their academy system so I would hope that in future City were well up the home grown talent rankings.

does anyone know who the 1-11 are for city

We should be ashamed of those stats.

Aren't these the stats that came out a couple of months ago? 'Home grown' doesn't necessarily mean brought through that club's academy, just players who came through any club at an early age. The rags' stats include Rooney, Carrick, Januzaj, Jones, Lingard, Smalling, Young and Rafael while City's include Hart, Milner, Lampard, Boyata, Sinclair, Guidetti, Wright and Clichy. In other words it's a load of misleading horse shit.

I'm not ashamed at all. We play in a league which attracts more overseas players than any other and have undergone a massive culture change from top to bottom. Many of our youngsters have gone on to have good (and lucrative) careers in football outside the top leagues.
