In a far more competitive League, with fewer fouls, at a much faster pace, alongside Phil Jones?

I think I'll reserve judgement until they've played Stoke away in winter thanks you very much.
Well if all fails its gonna be young crossing and fellaini lumping himself at it and united fans will be talking shite about how they're back to their best .

i think Schweini has proved his mettle time and time again and tbh it gets way colder in Munich than it does anywhere in England. Anyway yes injuries could feck his career up at this late a stage and phil jones might just scare the daylights out of him with those sublime beautiful expressions.

Schweinsteiger has the bottle for it no doubt. 93 games in 4 years though is not great, not when you take into account all the games Bayern will play besides just league.
It is not dire but not great, it is enough to have all utd fans on edge whenever he grimaces or gets a strong tackle and that will do for me :-)

Do we want them to qualify for the CL group stages and have that burden on them for the first 4 months of the season (that will truly f' them up) or would we swap that for 72 hours of non stop laughing as they fall at the first hurdle ?

No, we want them to lose in qualifying, as then they drop straight into the Europa League Group Stage and have to negotiate 6 Thursday night matches before Christmas, which has always proven to royally fuck up your season. Odds are, even without trying, they'll get out of any Europa League group, so that would also cock up at least a couple of weeks in early 2016 as well.

It's certainly possible that they don't make the Champion's League Group stage, although not likely. United will be seeded for the Knock Out round and, if all the highest seeds make it through the 3rd Qualifying round, then they'll have to play one of the following sides:-

Monaco
Ajax
Panathinaikos
Sporting Lisbon
Lazio

I'm sure that's not the 10 teams I've seen they can get it was only seetled late last week ?

Those are the 5 teams that are likely to be unseeded in the knockout round (actually replace Panathinaikos with Club Brugge as I made an error in judging the higher coefficient between those 2 sides). It assumes that certain teams win their 3rd round matches.

At present there are 5 teams already in the knock out round, 3 seeded, 2 might be seeded, but higher ranked sides could qualify via the 3rd round yet.

The 3 guaranteed seeded sides are United, Valencia, and Bayer Leverkusen. The 2 sides in the knockout round, but their seeding status is unclear, are Sporting Lisbon and Lazio. The 3rd round ties are as follows:-

Panathinaikos V Club Brugge
Young Boys Bern V Monaco
CSKA Moscow
V Sparta Prague
Rapid Vienna V Ajax
Fenerbahce V Shakhtar Donetsk

Those sides in BOLD have the higher coefficient, and were the seeded sides in the 3rd round. I've assumed they all win. If they do then CSKA Moscow and Shakhtar Donetsk will also be seeded in the knockout round, pushing Sporting Lisbon and Lazio into the unseeded pot. If one of CSKA or Donetsk fail to qualify then Sporting Lisbon would be seeded. If both fail to qualify then Ajax would be seeded. Lazio would need CSKA, Donetsk and Ajax to lose to become a seeded side, highly improbable.

You could be right just looked at the daily mirror and there ten teams is different

Wouldn't have it any other way, have a £100 bet with one about who finishes highest.
Had a bet with a colleague last season, couldn't believe my luck, snatched his hand off. Of course, he's disappeared off the face of the planet and I never got my money but there's a film called this boys life where Chaz Palminteri's character says something about whatever was owed to you is a small price to have someone like that out of your life for good.
