Consigned to yesterdays news in my opinion this club, failed to move with the times when the whole football scene changed. They can bleat on about their history with the liverpool boys as much as they like, thinking it is why a top class player should just look at them with adoring eyes.

Their whole structure from academy upwards is so far behind that it makes the so called class of 92 show it for what it was - a freak event.

And just to add more to the mess they appoint a manager who was a reaction to Pep joining us. Maureen goes against all there supposed talk of attacking football.

Oh how i laugh

A club that had its own way for way too long and didn't take the necessary action to stay at the top. Once Chelsea and then us levelled the unfair playing field that they enjoyed for too long it was only going to end one way. Poor management appointments coupled with paying huge amounts of money on average players like Fellani,Martial,Schniederlin, Depay,Shaw and Schwiensteiger. Add to that being crippled by the demands of fat Wayne which put him on level terms of any of their highest earners even though he was as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

With the spending power they have you think they could build a top team, instead it's hyping up cloggers like Herrara and Bailly. When have they ever been for a top young talent? Sane? Jesus? De Bruyne? All pursued by europes top club but they were never in the mix for any of them. I can't see them doing anything this year in the league and Jose is in for a suprise when the step up in class happens in the champions league. Roll on August so we can have a good laugh at the 'treble' winners as they get taken apart again.

I wonder which rag Martin (I'm-completely-unbiased) Tyler will be self-abusing himself over now that Shrek is -to all intents and purposes- consigned to the history books? I've no doubt he'll find someone to replace his darling 'Roooonnnneeeeyyyy'! But just which of the over-priced, over-hyped rag cnuts will it be?

I am not so sure about that. Maureen gets the team to play to avoid defeat first and only when its looking secure do they look for a win. They didn't win enough games last season but they hardly lost any. CL is going to depend on the draw they get in terms of getting out of the league stage.

Look no further than "Rashforrrrrd"

I'm fairly certain they will be gifted an easy ride in the league stage. UEFA will be desperate for the TV revenue from the Far East.

A long painful decline is on the cards for them, win the odd cup but in the league drifting further and further away from where it matters. SCUM

As much as he's hated, just shows what a job ferguson did in winning league after league. Never rested on one. Went and improved for the following season.
He bottled it in 2013 but who can blame him. In a time when other clubs were improving, the glazers weren't interested in splashing the cash.
Under their current structure, I can see them going as long as Liverpool without winning a league title again.

Didn't come against much opposition in the premier league in the early years of his tenure. Martin Edwards floated the club on the stock exchange used the money to buy a new team. Couple that up with tv money sloshing around from the newly formed premier league then them also getting another source of income from the one team from each country champions league.

Arsenal provided a challenge for a while, Chelsea upset the apple cart and it was us who began to interrupt the steady flow of champions league money to the likes of Liverpool,Arsenal and United. Fergie new the game was up and decided it best to bow out on top. If The influx of money into Chelsea and City had happened half a decade earlier would they have 20 titles? I very much doubt it, for a club that claims itself to be the greatest in the world 3 Champions league titles in its history looks a bit pathetic considering Madrid have won that many in 4 years. Only thing they can bang the drum about is revenue which isn't great when it's all going on servicing debt.

And if they did come up against any kind of opposition they just went and bought their best players - kung-fu cantona and old camel-chops spring to mind. They had the clowt to bully other clubs in the birth of the premier league and had the backing of the press

Never thought I would see these days in my lifetime with us becoming a force domestically and now looking to establish ourselves in European terms. I am cherishing all that I am witnessing and enjoying the experience with my 2 young sons

Not to mention, the bullying of officials.

I'm honestly not sure if their ambition goes further than top four at the minute.

It's not going to be quick, but the youth of today are fickle and one season after another with finishes outside the top 4 and their fan base, and revenue, will drop. If they don't turn the decline around, then they will truly be a team of yesterday.

I live in a small village just outside cardiff and 5 years ago it was a joke that I was the only city fan around. Seen 4 or 5 kids in sky blue this week. It is changing slowly.
