Spot on. There are no disciples of the Ferguson way for a reason.

Ferguson was outstandingly successful but no revolutionary, 1-0 victories were his hallmark, after squeaky bum time and a little bit of Fergie time. When he came up against a real visionary like Pep he had his arse handed to him.

Ferguson was just the biggest dinosaur in the age of dinosaurs.
Although spawned many a dinosaur in his own likeness Bruce, Robson, McClaren, Allardyce, Pulis, Moyes, Fergie junior et al
He spawned no-one successful as his success was not based on a footballing philosophy, more a culture of single mindedness, bullying and coercion

I see BBC have a new rag (Steve Wilson) in their pursuit of Rag Domination.

Steve Wilson | 16:43 UK time, Tuesday, 6 December 2011. I'll be at .... This was the time when i 'hated' liverpool fc as they won everything and united nothing.

You could hear the raggish desperation in his commentary yesterday as his darlings huffed and puffed in vain. Give my Licence fee back Twats.

That's a comment below the line from someone else.

Having watched that I almost feel sorry for Mouriniho
He's been held up as the anti-Christ to some forgotten time of swashbuckling Manchester United era that is, in reality, only a myth in the eyes of the media. And that same media that have built this myth of the all conquering fantastic football are now crucifying him for not delivering the impossible dream.
Agreed. The rags haven't had a great attacking team for 10 years. Their last title-winning team under Ferguson was one of the most boring champions in PL history.

Yeah, the kick em up the arse and tell them to f**king score a goal school of management.

Fergie also knew that City were not just there to make the numbers up in the PL.He shit himself, when he realised that we would be bigger of the two Manchester (for want of a better word) clubs and retirement was his only way out to save any embarrassment.

The single determining factor in his success was timing. He was there at the beginning of the sky money juggernaut with noone really to challenge him regularly, and he got out just as Mansour's dynasty was going to change everything forever in the prem.

I actually think he wasn't as dominant as he should have been with the resources at his disposal and the competition he faced. His record in Europe reflects that and in fairness he admits it. 2 injury time goals and a win on penalties is a poor return for a team that dominated in England for 2 decades.
