The whole saga with Maguire just smacks of "panic buy".

He's English and he had a half decent World Cup, and that's it. He is simply not worth the fortune they seem to be willing to want to spank on him.

I hope they do buy him. It will just prove how far they have fallen.

I'd like them to sign Maguire -he's really just Phil Jones Plus.

Not the sort of player I normally appreciate as a defender but I like a lot of his qualities and I actually think he'd be an excellent addition to United. And I definitely don't agree that he's on the level of Jones - there's a lot to like in his game

A different profile to that of Stones than I prefer but a big mistake to underrate him. He'd be a fortune of course but he is English and his profile has long been coveted in the Premiership. I think they need a leader in defense who can also give you something in the opponent's box too

They have Smalling ? ;-)

Martial has done nothing to increase his value since joining the Rags – nor has Pogba to be honest... not at club-level at least!
Well it's because they have received the very best guidance ,training and experience that money can buy , working with the creme de la creme of managers , thereby enhancing their inherent " world class " talents even further.
Meanwhile, back on planet Earth.....................

Who's paying you to say that?
He's a half decent footballer with a good touch for a big lad.
As somebody on here alluded to he looked better than usual in the world cup as we didn't play anybody of a high calibre.
Yes he is a beast at corners but are the rags really paying 80m for a guy who can only nick a goal at set pieces?
Last season he got turned, outrun and outdone on many a weekend which doesn't make him a bad player but any forward rapid over 10yards and he's toast.
Imo he isn't any better than what they've got.

Didn't he try something similar with Pep when Pep was on his sabbatical year and Ferguson was in his last season before retiring? Perhaps it was the deep-fried mars bars that put them off. ;-)
I think he did and I seem to remember that Pep said he couldn't understand a word and didn't realise he was tapping him up
