He will still be in his job for one simple reason. They can't afford to sack him.
Read they owe prem clubs £258m for players.
The whole rotten edifice is crumbling and they have over reached even their massive income.
Wage bill is already huge and a new manager would demand a raft of new players and a whole new backroom staff.

I think their milking machine would support a pay-off. I suspect they are simply fixated on the cheapest way to remove this turbulent tit.

Which is typically short termist thinking.

Had a fuckin' belly laugh at Jonathon Pierce of Motd after that MANUre corner - the one along the ground - straight to a Wiiiiiist Hiiiiiim player. He said something along the lines of "Goodness, this is Manchester United we're talking about!" I thought dead right Johnny - it is MANUre and these days that's what they are like - shite on a stick!

Best bit of the commentary was on BT sport when the rag fans were leaving early “The united fans will be looking go get an early train home from Euston for the long journey home”. Was he taking the piss more like a few stops on the jubilee line.

I see it as a game of Russian roulette. He and the Hierarchy want him to leave but the 1st to blink loses. So both will play their part in this crazy game till one or the other or both are ready to swallow their pride. I`m sure United want a none disclosure agreement but will have to pay for it.

I do love a good drama

And one that is gonna cost the Raggity Rags a pretty shiny penny! Stick it out, Jose. Don't let 'em bully yer! Make sure you blink last!

They risk missing out on the CL at the moment and that will cost them over £50m next season, maybe more. The recent fall in the share price has lost them about £500m in the last 4 weeks.

Can they afford not to sack him?

No chance his ego will accept a clause in his contract that'll give him less money. Remember, they went cap in hand after him so PEG would hold all the cards in any contract neg.

Very good point.

I also can’t see PEG agreeing anything that would give him the best possible terms. As you said, the eye-gouging twat held all the aces at the time of his employment by rag central, so he was in a very strong negotiating position.
