It does tickle me, that after years of regarding Phil Jones as a joke footballer, it's suddenly dawned on them, he's actually much, much better than their £80m Captain.

It was always shown as Man U in the football results in the papers in the 70s and that became Man Yoo especially by the plastic brigade.
It was so common l think that there was indeed a directive to have it used in full as Manchester especially as it goes against the trend to abbreviate anything and everything else.
I wish City used Manchester in full on the website.

I've noticed that the MEN calls the rags, "Manchester *n*t*d, us, Man City.
