Watching SSN transfer crap last night and the two presenters asked Paul Merson what he thought about the Ronaldo signing after they spent a couple of minutes really bigging it up and seemed quite giddy doing it. Fair do's to him he informed the two sycophants that the rags ain't getting the player who left and though he can still score goals he said fans should no longer expect to see him coming in from the wing taking players out of the game and dominating matches. In fact he said he could be a bit of a liability when the team doesn't have the ball and that Juventus really couldn't wait to get him off the books.

Suffice to say the two presenters and the retired Scottish footballer whose name escapes me sat there in utter shock at his answer and tried to correct him that he was obviously mistaken and this was one of the best signings ever to take place since football was invented but he stood by what he had said. They quickly got the retired Scottish fellah to get them back on track and he obliged by spouting balls about him being a legend and coming here to win trophies as that's what he does. Peace was again restored to the Sly Sports Studio and they two presenters got all giddy again.

What a f*cking shower of a channel that really is.
I've been saying it for years.

"Sky Sports News is nothing more than a magazine programme"

Nothing to see there..... move on.

Ronaldo scored 101 goals in a Juventus shirt, crowned with two league titles, one Coppa Italia and two Supercoppe. As Luigi Garlando wrote in La Gazzetta dello Sport: “In three years, CR7 amassed the numbers of a normal human’s entire career.”

Juventus are currently doing a squad re-build, and Ronaldo at this stage of his career is the cherry on top of a ready made cake, not the player you need to build your team around, especially with only a year left on his contract. This is why a short deal at City/United was quite enticing for both clubs. He guarantees goals, trophies and success. He demands it. Who doesn't want a bit of that?
Hes going to be very fucking disappointed then if he's demanding trophies.
As will your shite fanbase when they realise that every big name from fifa 2009 doesn't win you trophies when the leagues worst manager is at the helm.
Comedy club for cunts stuck in the past.
The best thing is that in your bubble you fail to notice that the world of football (well the one's not on a retainer to present propaganda through various arse licking journalists) are laughing their bollocks off at the parody you've become.

Like the swedish conk and his promises of titles?

His numbers were impressive, but Juve scored less goals overall, and Ronaldo took a hell of a lot a shots each match. If he's creating those chances himself, then that's not too bad, but given he was statistically one of the least mobile players in Europe, there's a worry (for United fans - not for me - ha!) that he's sucking up chances from the rest of the team, without having an especially impressive conversion rate.

Now, there were other things going on with Juve while he was there, which could have affected their numbers, but I've seen quite a few of their supporters who (while excited that he played for them), weren't too sad to see him leave.

If I had to bet on his impact, I'd say it would be similar to Cavani - very impressive, but not a total game changer. Ronaldo may get higher numbers than Cavani did last season, but I suspect only if he nicks pens from Bruno, and there's pressure to give him a lot more minutes.

Yet, you were trying to sign him only last Friday, and 85% of the people on this forum wanted him to come, according to your poll.
