This time last week they were well in the pack to launch a sustained challenge for the title after the World Cup.

It's been that way since you-know-who retired, they keep chucking money at it with no apparent strategic plan. Ten Bob has a decent CV but without the strength of character to bomb out Ronaldo as soon as he walked through the door I can't see him being much more successful than the previous managers since 2013.

This "decent CV" seems to consist of a few domestic titles and domestic cups managing what was already the most dominant, most expensively assembled and most successful team in a 3 team farmers league from what I can see.
