In trying to deal with the widespread surprise at Dan Ashworth's sudden exit as sporting director with as little detail as possible, Manchester United officials let it be known it had been a "difficult decision".

And yet in reality, it may have been relatively easy.

After all, BBC Sport has been told Ashworth had effectively been frozen out of the decision-making picture at Old Trafford, just five months after his arrival as sporting director.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, one senior figure told BBC Sport that Ashworth had been "totally professional in everything, but ultimately the fit hasn't worked. Rather than muddle along, we are taking the difficult decision on both sides and acting quickly".

Another well-connected source told BBC Sport they believed Ashworth had been blamed for the decision to keep former manager Erik ten Hag in the summer.

Reading that sounds like an espionage novel, a novel those journalists are ill equipped to convey.

Remember when the media told us all Scruffy Jim was sorting out the mess and getting the best of the best ?
They demanded Newcastle release Ashworth immediately. We were told how small time the Geordies were for refusing. Ashworth was going to power the rags to a new golden era of dominance and the 10 million the rags paid to get their man was nothing compared to the results he would bring.

So what happened ? I'm sure the media are busy typing out the reason(s) it all went wrong after only 5 months. I presume it will be explained first thing Monday morning.

After all was he the messiah or just a very naughty boy.

But but….. he’s got a laptop.

Looks like we missed out on yet another world beater. I particularly like this quote "Seeing him day to day, he reminds me of the Ronaldinho I played with at Barcelona"

Looks like Berarda was aware that maybe City were considering Amorim?

The best thing about what is happening at United at the moment is this "Ratcliffe says this", "Ratcliffe has done that", " Ratcliffe wants the other". He should invest his money, appoint good people and stay the fuck out of decision-making or he will be undermining everyone and there is a good chance it will go even more tits up.

Actually, keep going Sir Jim :)

If they really wanted to follow City's example, that is exactly what the scruffy one should have done.

Sheikh Mansour appointed Khaldoun as chairman, and he in turn, appointed football people, who actually know what they are doing.

Could be something in that. Goes something like this....

Ammo binned us off in favour of the rags.

Pep then felt duty bound to extend rather than drop us in the shit.

Pep subsequently then had a bit of a breakdown at the thought of having to stay longer than he wanted rather then whizzing-off to enjoy life on the Ipanema.

Players have downed tools because they can't take another 2 years of Pep's high intensity management style.

In response, Pep is only allowing guys with a max fitness level of 70% in the starting 11. All others are benched, and especially those with links to Brazil.

And Phil has gone on a bronchitis-busting health recovery holiday to the Copacabana and is getting Ronnie to send Pep tiktoks to let him know what he's missing.
stop whatever drugs you're on

Scruffy Jim cat weasel the petrochemical polluting tax evading Chelsea fan doesn’t make decisions so he can’t be blamed.

Chief rat Berrada jumped in to get A Moron incase CITY showed an interest.

Disagreement, dispute, division......and chief rat gets all the power, politics in play !!

Sounds a happy ship.

Fuck em over this Sunday big time !!
