Its standard practice for teams playing on a Thursday night not to be involved in matches at dinner time on a Saturday, and with Sty's coverage taking up Sunday afternoon, it was the only slot available to TNT.
I'm more than happy with them playing late, let's me watch something on the PC while Mrs Moon watches that pottery crap on normal tv.

Well now they have the backing by the government meaning ££££ to redevelop the area which is still good for Manchester Ratcliffe will now have leverage to get backing sponsors to build a new stadium!

plans for a new 100,000 capacity stadium as centrepiece of a major regeneration project have been given a huge boost after the government threw their support behind the proposals
United CEO Omar Berrada welcomes Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ backing
I don't mind the idea really. If it is genuinely good for the North then fine, but as Blues have said so much recently the infrastructure MUST be improved fully. Not just a few additional trams here or there but increased train travel, roads to extensive and reliable park and ride services and an improved Manchester Airport.
I would surely hope that the stadium is a Wembley of the North and that cup semi's, finals England matches (mens and womens), rugby finals etc can be played there. I would also like to think that athletics can somehow be accomodated, but thats a major step change in terracing, seating and track mechanics which may not suit Uniteds intentions.
Bring it on I say - the last two major new staduims (exc Everton, too early to judge) havn't had any real positive effect on team performance. West Ham and Spurs have plodded on inconsistently with the grounds being a bit of a millstone financially.
Everton's new ground is beautiful by the way. However Liverpool City Council have done very little to assist. There is no improvement in surrounding infrastructure and the surrounding dock buildings remain virtually derelict. On a large scale project like this, local or national government have to get involved.
Whatever, it'll be fun watching Scruffy Jim hike the prices, trim the staff and fail to get in decent players to match his golden ambitions. He doesn't have the skillset around him currently. The John Delarean of the football industry so far.

Government funding? surely this is sportswashing ;-)

At least John DeLorean was a handsome chap, scruffy Jim.....not so much.

Just seen that they are't playing until later this evening.

Amazing how many 'favours' they get from the PL, and we just got told to suck it up. Still waiting for them to be punished for their fans causing that game to be cancelled v the Dipper's.
I'm waiting for the "last day of the season fake bomb scare" to be looked into.

Keep having a bad night terror

Trump buys the rags

Everything gets turned on its head overnight he ends up franchising the PL …………. Sorry have to stop can’t bare to type the rest and to be honest I usually wake up before he builds the Wembley of North (America)
He is rumoured to be interested in liverpool you know

When did this happen ?

Darren Lewis just now talking on SSN about the Government backing to the rags for the regeneration of surrounding areas of the new/regenerated old toilet... And to be fair to him, he made the point that our owners have regenerated the area by putting their own money in whereas the billionaire owners of the rags are getting the government/tax payer to pay for it.
Time for a Bluemoon whip round for flying lessons for Uwe and to get an old Heinkel bomber just in case ;-)

7pm.kick off in London is a shocker. Are the trains still on strike? Piss poor for fans.

Poor for fans I agree, good for the TV companies though. We all know which takes priority dont we? How long before the schedule is changed to show a couple of games every night? I still think its unfair that some teams go into a game knowing the results of teams around them before the game starts, oh for the days when football was a game for Saturday afternoons with every game kicking off at 3pm

Yet HS2 was shortened due to lack of money but suddenly someone found a few billion down the back of a sofa.

Will the rags pay rent at the going rate ? Doesn't seem right that some clubs rags and WHU get new free stadiums. Whilst Everton get points deducted for building a new stadium funded by themselves.

This give rags a massive advantage with loads more money to spend on players instead of the stadium.

Can't see the 3k rags having a problem getting back to Kent, Essex, Surrey.

I would hope that any “help” they get is restricted to upgrading the surrounding area - which will be a great help to them but they’ll still have to fund their stadium build - which I’m not sure they can afford without affecting the team.
Just my opinion - nothing is ruled out I guess and rags do seem to be able to pull strings when they need to.
However, it’s all going to hopefully be very disruptive for them.
