Out of interest how have they missed out on £100m by not getting in the Champions League. The winners get £21.5m, yet they were getting £100m just for qualifying?
Yes it’s the wonderful terminology the press love to use:-
“Manchester United have lost out on a potential £100m jackpot” says the article but the clickbait headline will scream “United lose £100m in Champions League play off”

As you said, the prize money is £21m, but assuming the rags went on to win the cup (stop laughing at the back!) that is a minimum of 7 home games, possibly 8, plus TV income, additional sponsorship for CL games and extra merchandise sales etc etc and it will add up to around £100m

They are talking about next year. 20 million matchday income lost, say, 20 million sponsorship downgrades and 60 million minimum they were hoping for from CL money.

Will never happen

They could fail PSR (again) and still wouldn't be punished.
Why wouldn’t it happen? I posted earlier yesterday that relegation is their next step, naturally if this form continues.

And if you’re going to go down the ‘the authorities won’t let it happen’ route, don’t. Nobody gives a flying fuck about United other than their own fans. It would be the biggest story in the world of football for some time.

I can’t wait for it to happen.

You get £15m just for qualifying. And loads you can earn at each stage even before you get to the final. Even a win in the group stages is worth over a million in prize money. The co-efficient payments to competing clubs are pretty huge too (Villa got £16m, we got £36m). At a guess the rags would be on the higher end.

I don't think it's too far from the mark. They would have also got in the supercup which is worth a couple of million even to the loser.

It's a big financial blow to them (and a huge financial boost to Spurs)

they unfortunatly will get someone who knows what hes doing him from bournmouth plays good football and law of averages they must get one right sooner or later
The shitter they get the less chance there is of a top, credible manager arriving and relieving them of their abject misery..
They are a busted flush and I don’t think they have fallen as far as they are going to just yet…
Lack of European football next season will be a disaster financially and let’s face it, who have they got in that squad worth more than 1000 Vietnamese Dong … ? Let alone the £300 million they still owe in outstanding transfer fees ..

Fucking marvellous innit :-)

Oh but "it's a chance for Amorin to properly coach the team" now they won't have Emmerdale . That's the way their spinning it , not pointing out the £15 million loss on gate receipts over the ten games they'll miss. Nevermind , at least they can recoup something through Round One of the League Cup ....
I'd say this seasons run in the Europa League was already the perfect opportunity for Amorim to coach the team... playing competitive games against inferior opposition should have provided the perfect opportunity for him to coach the players and implement his style of play far more effectively than anything that can be done on the training ground.
