Having done about 5 minutes of research it appears this post by Rachel Maddow is not correct at all.

Trump’s team didn’t forget to put him on the primary, they actually weren’t permitted to put him on it by the Nevada GOP. This is because, confusingly, Nevada has a law that parties are legally obliged to hold primaries - this law was put forward by Democrats. But the Nevada GOP don’t select their candidate through a primary, they do so in a caucus. So the GOP have a system in place whereby they always select the caucus winner, regardless of what happens in the primary. The primary is purely symbolic. And in a show of defiance to the law that the Democrats enacted, they have said anybody who is on the primary is ineligible to win the caucus. So the other runners have all submitted to be on the primary to try and be “best of the rest” knowing they aren’t winning the caucus but Trump is not on the primary because that would deprive him of the caucus win.

Albeit, it’s a completely batshit system… but there’s enough incompetence coming out of Team Trump to criticise without just making up stories about them forgetting things which they didn’t forget.

Maddow is the Tucker Carlson of MSNBC.

Shame really as she's done some great documentaries and podcast on US political history.

It's annoying as there is no need with the GOP / Trump. They are one big shit show. No need to make stuff up when the truth is damaging enough.
 


The irony is that no one’s “balls” have been shown more on Capitol Hill than Hunter Biden’s by the GOP….
 
The Republican party is pretty stupid.

Fox News and other outlets will air whatever claims Republicans make so long as it's perceived as popular among their audience and won't land them in some sort of obviously losing lawsuit.

In America, public figures are much less able to sue for defamation. And Joe Biden is a public figure.

So why not tell even more spectacular lies? Here's a for example...

Why do this?

Because it muddies the waters? It makes fascist Trump on par with "murderous" Biden in the eyes of some swing voters who are susceptible to obvious mistruths...

This quickly devolves among idiots to... both parties are the same (I'm looking at you Bigga).

And given how close Republican vs Democrat elections are, a few votes here or there will make all the difference.
