I agree. There is a long list of potential crimes but most are either complex or relatively minor. I can see why the DoJ don't want to after him on something like that. The risk of failing in court, the consequences re the Trump narrative if he were to win.A few months ago I'd have agreed with this. Mar-a-Lago though has changed my mind: the evidence against Trump is both overwhelming and obvious, the case against him is easy to understand, and failure to bring charges would result in widespread loss of confidence in the justice system.
Charges will be brought against Trump - because they have to be.
But the docs scandal is a gift. Simple, easy to prove and serious enough to not let it go. Already in court his lawyers are failing to justify why he should possess these docs in an attempt to stall the process. Its been a bad move on their part as they have shown their hand. They have nothing.
I also think once this moves forward it opens the door to the complex cases. Primarily the Jan 6th insurrection.
