It would get you thrown out of the DHS Range in a heartbeat. I trained with the Border Patrol and you’d get absolutely fucking roasted for not following ANY of the 4 basics, especially the two that kill so many people…finger on the trigger, muzzle pointed at someone, or even “lasing” them by moving the muzzle across their person, such that if it had a laser pointer, it would have touched any part of their body.

I was at a recurrent range event at the Glenview Police Station with a ex-FBI instructor when he asked a man to “unload and make safe” his weapon.

The man tried to unload a magazine from his gun, but it stuck. He then lifted the firearm up to get a closer look at it. In the process, he lased the muzzle up the entire length of the body of the instructor and it was pointing at his head while the guy was reviewing his firearm!

I thought the Instructor was going to beat the man to death! He quickly moved to the side and shouted at him so loud we all jumped. He then took the weapon from him, put it down, and fronted him while barking like a movie sergeant major!

“Are you trying to fucking kill me?”
“What the fuck do you think you are doing pointing any weapon at me, let alone one you know has malfunctioned?”

He was red-faced and clearly very, very agitated, finishing off with:

“Take your firearm, make it safe, lock it, put it in its case, and get the fuck off my range!”

At that, he stepped away from and behind the guy while we all stared wildly. The guy did as he was told and left without saying a word.

Yes, many Muricans are dumb as rocks and have guns, but when you are with serious people, doing serious training, there’s one way and one way only, and if you don’t follow the rules, you are toast!

Needless to say, Kristi Noem’s cosplay would have seen her in her car, driving home in tears in 2 minutes flat!

If it has a magazine fitted, it's loaded until you prove it isn't.

If it doesn't have a magazine fitted, there could still be a round chambered, until you prove there isn't.

Either way, don't point it in the direction of anything you don't intend to kill, and keep your finger away from the trigger.
