Valencia in for Negredo?

I suspect this potential sale was not in our plans otherwise maybe Pellers would have mentioned him. Ah well leave this for the club to sort out. Funny enough I do trust their judgement.

At least it's keeping our transfer window interesting...

Not for me it isn't I was happy with the incomings and just about used to the idea of Nastisic leaving. The only good thing was almost a neutral spend then this comes along I wish this thread would just die but it seems to be adding pages at a fair old rate of knots. Wish the Sinclair, Richards and Guidetti thread were moving as quickly. :-(

I said at the start of the summer that I thought we were a striker heavy and that I wouldn't be against selling either Negredo or Dzeko if a £25m offer came in, so I'll stand by that. If he's not going to be in the CL squad then I can only see this becoming a headache as the season goes on, so if we could put out that fire before it even starts then that would be a plus.

After pre-season, I have no real problem with Kelechi being used as an emergency 4th choice striker if everyone else breaks down (which hopefully shouldn't happen), but we have more than enough attacking midfield options to play with only one striker if we pick up injuries. I wouldn't say no to a proper winger coming in, but if we instead just saved the money for January to see if we needed something then, I wouldn't be against it. Our squad looks more than capable of lasting untill January, even if we lose Negredo.

Oscar as you say another option is the January market we could get by until then, it is always the January to end of season months that are the most telling and taxing on the squad. Just a thought we could have another look at Barkley who plays the 10 role and by then he should be on the road to full recovery.

Exactly, at the moment people see the money as burning a hole in their pockets, but we realistically don't "need" anything. Come January, some new wonderkid could of broken onto the scene, or someone special could become available. The more I think about it, the less point I see in buying anyone with the money at the moment.

The only thing which worries me is the injury record of Kun & Jovetic. It could potentially leave us with Edin as our only out an out striker if they continue to pick up niggles.

I agree we have an abundance of talent who can play in the hole behind a striker but would feel better if we were to replace him if he were to leave in this window. If it's an out an out winger I.e Di Maria or Reus it gives us more options or even a striker, maybe Falcao on loan or Remy. Scores goals, prem proven and would accept the 4th choice role maybe.

Going to be an interesting window now.

The other dilemma being if we are to replace him who drops out of the CL squad.

Not a decision I'd like to make.

In txixi/ manuel we trust!!

if real madrid really want negredo
so I'd like ( negredo = demaria loan + right to purchase next summer for a smaller fee )
We've got around £25 million(at the minute) plus Negredo right now if it came down to it so no loan needed.

Don't forget Nasty...if we sell both we COULD buy anyone outright essentially.

The other part of this could be that if we were to get someone in January like Reus or DiMaria they already may be cup tied for the CL. Then they could help us in League games so we wouldn't have to worry about who we would leave out of the CL. (until next season of course)
