The doom-monger scenario would be Aguero and Jovetic injured at the same time AND Yaya at AFCON.

Given their recent injury history it is entirely possible Sergio and Jovetic could be injured at the same time - though hopefully not!

Letting Negredo go with no replacement would represent the weirdest piece of business we have done since Txiki has been here.

Though it is pretty clear Negredo doesn't want to be here.

Why is it pretty clear?

Come on mate- there have been pretty substantial stories of him going all summer- alongside rumours of him and his family being unhappy.

Something is going on. Unless City are entirly unconvinced by him, which I doubt, he hasn't adapted to life here.

Stories?

The only story I heard on him that even remotely rings true is his interview on MCFC TV ( HAVE A LISTEN TO IT ).

If you know him personally and know how unhappy his family is in England by all means do share the tale.

If you like reading the press scuttlebutt then I am happy for you.

Rumours - Fleetwood Mac - Great Album especially The Chain have a listen to the words and you won't be such an avid spokesperson for the tabloids as you are now.

He might still go but it would be bad business if we don't get a better replacement.

MP is a big fan of four strikers and it worked like a charm last season.

Its what got us over the line in the end.

We have no hope of winning the title this year with three strikers ( 2 always suspect to soft tissue injuries ) and YAYA away in ACON once again.

I want us to maximise the chances of maximise the chances of us going back to back , not throw it away in a hearbeat on August 31 dancity19.

I think these rumours about Valencia wanting him are certainly substantial. But whatever. Can't be arsed to debate it. I question whether he is happy here still- something has happened. If you don't fine- not the end of the world.

I'm with you, although I don't have any facts to back up my opinion. Just a hunch.

His faced reseembled a smacked backside at times towards the end of the season. Also, in the #asknegredo video, he didn't appear sincere when saying he wanted to stay at City. I may be wrong but that's how I see it.

Surely we're not gonna shoot ourselves in the foot again by letting Negredo leave without an adiquate replacement coming in... Major bollock dropping by tixi if so.

Thought those days had gone forever

In hindsight Mendes was never going to do a deal with us regarding Falcao.... Strengthen our hand, while leaving the scum sinking deeper & deeper into sh*t creek.... That'll never do.

Must preserve the status quo, you know

I agree with you here mate.......Knowing he has been unhappy and knowing he's had interest from teams back in Spain......not having a replacement lined up would seem like very bad business....maybe he stays after all and the whole Falcao thing will then become clear....

Is it "major bollock dropping" though?

We have a very very good offer on the table from Valencia, one of which we won't I doubt get again.

This coupled with plenty of rumors now that his family have not settled in Manchester so they want to leave.

He isn't and won't be the main striker at the club so whilst we have an offer on the table for lets say a player that doesn't want to be here it is in the best interests of the club and player for us to let him go.

I think everyone is naffed off because we didn't make the big signing today but let's not forget Negredo is injured. Even if he goes and we sign someone half decent then that is fine, it's just about filling the numbers in really. We had 4 strikers last year and Jovetic barely featured, this year it's the same with Jovetic likely to play more, he should get loads of goals this season. Negredo got a lot of goals last year but he was on form and not injured, at the moment I can't see him playing let alone scoring until at least October. If he is homesick and injured then a loan or selling him for a good price makes a lot of sense to me.

Clearly we were trying to get the best possible deal with Falcao and his agent but considering he is a player who seems to be completely motivated by the words of his agent, we are better off without him anyway. What kind of player joins Monaco who weren't in the CL at the time from Atletico who were and then goes out on loan to another team not in the CL when he just helped Monaco qualify... It just does not make sense and Txiki etc isn't at fault, the player went for the biggest pile of money on the table.

That's only because most teams play 1 out and out forward.

We could go with 3 forwards. Its not the worst situation in the world. Arsenal would kill for it

I'd let Negredo go if he wants to go. Squad morale is important, and I feel if he's not happy now, it's only a matter of time before he does go. Better to do a deal now, and then that puts us in a strong position to strengthen in January or next Summer

If ?

He's been injured since the West Ham game , I thought it was only a minor AC but he lost all confidence since the fall.

What's more important is that MP likes him , he wanted him last year.

If you can come up with a replacement for him that we could use and improve on our strike rate then I am all for letting him go if we want him to go.

Jovetic and Kun are always subject to soft tissue injuries.

Dzeko and Negredo are not .

Its pretty simple to me.

Kun and Jovetic don't jell in the starting line up.

As Tolmie correctly said it was the repeat of the jesuss and negredo show ala Hull that wats missing on Saturday

If we had Negredo available or Dzeko in from the start we wouldn't have lost.
Bit early to say Kun and Jovetic don't 'jell' together don't you think?

On this one I agree with Tolmie 100 per cent , I don't always agree with him but he called it well IMO.

Sometimes you can tell after one game , we should have started Jovetic with Dzeko.

I hope I am wrong but if we start Kun and Jovetic against the likes of sides like Stoke of which there are number in the premier league who play a similar style and set up we will struggle to break them down especially on our own patch.

Course it will be a bollock dropped. We first heard he was homesick in June. We knew then he would need to be replaced as Pellegrini has always said he wants 4 strikers.

Both Aguero & Jovetic are injury prone and Yaya will go to ACON so we will be needlessly light

I don't want to sell him. He was great for us the first half of last season, so don't know why you think I want us to go to 3 at the back. In fact, the reason I posted was to say how weird it would be IF we sold him without a back up.

I don't read and believe all press- far from it, but there has been enough speculation about this for it to not just be compltetely disregarded as you seem to be doing, scuttlebutt.

No idea why you have taken such a strong attack when there are about 5 other people in the same 2 pages who have said the same as me.

Oh, and you mock me for suggesting the press might be right about this, but you believe ENTIRELY what he tells the MCFC website where things HAVE to be positive otherwise they won't get on. Come one mate, if you're as intelligent as you clearly think you are you should know that. Would he come out and say 'yeah i wana go, in a bit lads'.

I'm sure Van Persie wanted to stay at Arsenal didn't he, or at least he said so.

anything actually 'substantial' or just rumours in the press?

Valencia probably want all our Spanish contingent but that doesn't mean there is anything substantial in it.
