The doom-monger scenario would be Aguero and Jovetic injured at the same time AND Yaya at AFCON.

Given their recent injury history it is entirely possible Sergio and Jovetic could be injured at the same time - though hopefully not!

Letting Negredo go with no replacement would represent the weirdest piece of business we have done since Txiki has been here.

Though it is pretty clear Negredo doesn't want to be here.

They were last year. Edin scored the goals that took us the title and he'd do it again given the chance. Have a little faith.

I do mate- just making the point it would hardly be a great scenario to be in- I also included Yaya being at AFCON at the same time- but that would have to be real bad luck!!

I just think getting rid of Negredo with no replacement is very odd.

If he doesn't go today he will be off in January.

He and his family clearly are not happy and next week he will likely find out he will be dropped in the Champions League.

Along with him being unhappy, the big reason I can see him leaving today would be because we agreed a potential obligatory buyout of €25m which is very good money for a player like Negredo at his age in my opinion.

We won't get close to that in January if you ask me because if I am honest I see him hardly playing until now and January.

There is alway January to bring some one in if Negrado goes.. We will be fine any how with what we have

Valencia are optimistic they will still sign Alvaro Negredo despite Radamel Falcao appearing destined for Manchester United.

Going to go down the wire I reckon.

I can imagine Yaya playing upfront with Aguero. Might be a good idea to try out.
This a joke ???????????????????

I know its not the ideal thing, but what other option would you have if you have 2 unfit striker and want to play 2 upfront. Martin Blackburn suggested that we will stick with Yaya/Silva as no.10 if required.

Iheanacho can't get a work permit for another month (when he turns 18) and, even then, he's very raw and would be best loaned out to someone who can give him regular first team football.

Negredo won't play til almost the same time.

imo, Iheanacho pre season was a better player than Negredo was at the end of last season & if Negredo was only going to produce that level, then the team would be better with Iheanacho in it, young or not. I would like to see us give him an opportunity & then if he struggles, loan him out later.

Give him a try first. I recon our crowd will love him & he will give us the boost people are craving in the Falcao thread.

As far as I understood it there was no guarantee that Kelechi was going to get a work permit. I can only think that the club may have received assurances in that department. In saying that I still would much prefer we retain the beast.
He fails to meet the standard criteria. but that's hardly surprising given his age. City would have to demonstrate that he represents a unique talent, and comes with such a skillset that there isn't anyone available as an alternative that would not require a work permit. There's no guarantees with the British Government.

Silva or Nasri off Aguero or Jovetic is a better idea

I'm sure City have run the rule over PSG, Real Madrid's squads but I can think of a couple of attacking players in their squads who are not featuring regularly in their 1st teams but who would be very useful here

If the Negredo deal is delayed without being ruled out, I'd suggest that City will be working on just such a loan deal

Well it looks like he's not essential now anyway if rumours are correct.

Lets hope the beast returns as he was at the start of last season, rather than the end. (Still like to see the kid get a chance if we get the permit though)

Martin Blackburn is just stating the obvious there.

I still think we need 4 strikers because Manuel plays 4-4-2/4-2-2-2 pretty much 90% of the time but if the club feel they can get away with having three then let's see what happens.

January is a very tough month if you look at the fixtures and when you think we could have Yaya off to AFCON, Lampard gone, and potential injuries it does worry me a little.

Lets see what happens.
