Why do teams need 4 strikers?

To compete in Europe And the Premiership. But Negredo was the player who was going to miss out from the CL squad, and he's also out injured until around October.

There's therefore a strong argument to let him go if he wants to leave. He'd only be able to play in the domestic matches and would miss the next month anyway as I believe he's only just taken off that protective boot.

You could argue that we've known about this for months and could have dealt with it earlier, but if it's true that he wants to go back to Spain well then we would only be able to move once a bid came in from Spain. Maybe none have until now

We need 4 strikers because Aguero missed half of the last 2 seasons and Jovetic missed almost all of last season. We can't get by just playing Dzeko up front on his own if they get crocked again.

A packed season with possibility of 2 out and out strikers is embarrasing for a defence of the champions never mind to have a proper go in the champs league.whats going on

What's "embarrassing" about it?

Dan lad....Don't be fooled by that rag tool. Fuck knows why he's still on here.

The only problem is that Aguero and Jovetic are seemingly only a twist or turn away from a long lay off

Even if they were all fit all the time, we'd still need four of them for the near 60 games we'd play over the season.

Pellegrini wanted two players for every position and having only three strikers will leave us weaker up front as we'd only have one player for the #9 position.

What has El Shaarawy done in his footballing life apart from have a decent half season?
Icon of Milan at a young age, clinical finisher, speaks well in the media, works hard for the team. What's not to like?

18 goals in 66 games in Serie A is hardly 'clinical'.
He plays as a winger behind a striker. He is clinical, very cool at finishing when he gets a shooting opportunity.

Should have gone in for Samaras when he became available ;)

Oh thank you so much; just as I'm typing this I get an e-mail alert from City promising me highlights of the Stoke game. Fuck off.

Villa until October (before Melbourne season starts), Nacho then from October and all our issues are sorted

Could be a proper sad end to the weekend football wise for us with us losing to Stoke, a side that has never beaten or scored a goal at The Etihad since being in the Premier League, we then get nailed on to see Falcao joining us only for him to end up at United, now we are looking at losing Negredo with no replacement coming in.

Didn't we knock back Atletico months ago? And since then Real have supposedly expressed an interest and now Valencia. The club have made it clear on several occasions that he isn't (wasn't) for sale but that seemed to change yesterday. So either he's now forcing a move or it was just because we suddenly realised that it might be worth getting rid and upgrading with Falcao. If it is the latter then surely Negredo won't be going anywhere in this window?

We need to something this is stupid, we cannot let negredo go with no replacement
