If Negredo goes to Valencia today he has forced a move there because he is unhappy if you ask me, there is no way we would sell him and weaken our squad if he was happy to stay here, not on deadline day anyway.
We play two up top 90% of the time and therefore need 4 strikers.
Who knows we might have a loan up our sleeves...
or alternatively we got turned over by the swampies and he was left hung out to dry by the sleeveless Barca boys
let's hope not

I thought it was common knowledge from what was coming out of the reliable sources that Valencia could only sign Negredo if we agreed to get Falcao.

I personally feel Negredo is pushing for a move after everything was agreed with Valencia yesterday.

David Villa?

It could be but wouldn't that look like bad PR from City Group because Melbourne had him lined up?
Maybe a case of getting priorities right, bank the fee for Negredo ( most of it next season) and get a quality replacement free . Just a thought and probably way off the mark.

If Negredo wants to go so be it, But we are leaving ourselves very sparse on the ground with only 3 strikers. Do we think that it is possible to break the deal with Melbourne to bring in villa till January.

I just think if City Group cancelled Villa's loan to Melbourne in favour of City it will look like City Group is in favour of City and that won't go down well in Australia when Villa is arguably the best player they have ever had down there.

Unless we can sweeten the pill with Sinclair and Guidetti. About their level.

Why do teams need 4 strikers?

To compete in Europe And the Premiership. But Negredo was the player who was going to miss out from the CL squad, and he's also out injured until around October.

There's therefore a strong argument to let him go if he wants to leave. He'd only be able to play in the domestic matches and would miss the next month anyway as I believe he's only just taken off that protective boot.

You could argue that we've known about this for months and could have dealt with it earlier, but if it's true that he wants to go back to Spain well then we would only be able to move once a bid came in from Spain. Maybe none have until now

If we were playing one up top most games we would be fine with three strikers but Pellegrini plays two up top 90% of the time and vary rarely goes with just one up front.

With two up top you need 4 strikers, two for each position.

If we sell Negredo and don't replace him then our attack is weaker than last season.
