Valencia in for Negredo?

This is seriously stupid by us. Aguero has spent the last 2 years with various injuries, Jovetic has spent his entire career consistently injured so that leaves us with Dzeko who is the only physically reliable player up top.

On top of that, Yaya will miss around 6 weeks in January.

We have a very tough CL group, with potential 6 pointers sandwiched in between the CL games. There's an obvious need to freshen it up. That was evident on Saturday, and that's only three games into the season.

It's like we haven't learnt from our last title defending season. Losing a 23 goal striker is a disaster, if we want to be successful in all four competitions.

This isn't needless flapping. I would be just as concerned had we only had 3 centre backs. I'd be even more concerned if two of the three had spent large parts of last season injured.

This will bite us on the arse if Negredo goes. We need four forwards. This has been handled comically bad.
You don't think City know all that?

Which Negredo are we losing? The unstoppable phenomena or the absolutely useless lump? We don't know what his mentality was like this season. He might hae been promised a move if a Spanish bid came along for all we know. As I have said repeatedly Negredo can't play until October and can't play in Europe so he's a pretty useless 4th choice striker anyway. And the window opens in January

We may come to regret this. These are managerial decisions you take which have an element of risk and a regard to many factors which we don't know about including the individual

A cock up of City proportions

Perhaps we were led up the garden path by Mendes and thought we had him only for United to come in at the death, the Negredo to Valencia may just have gone past the point of no return at that point.

Why is it pretty clear?

Come on mate- there have been pretty substantial stories of him going all summer- alongside rumours of him and his family being unhappy.

Something is going on. Unless City are entirly unconvinced by him, which I doubt, he hasn't adapted to life here.

Stories?

The only story I heard on him that even remotely rings true is his interview on MCFC TV ( HAVE A LISTEN TO IT ).

If you know him personally and know how unhappy his family is in England by all means do share the tale.

If you like reading the press scuttlebutt then I am happy for you.

Rumours - Fleetwood Mac - Great Album especially The Chain have a listen to the words and you won't be such an avid spokesperson for the tabloids as you are now.

He might still go but it would be bad business if we don't get a better replacement.

MP is a big fan of four strikers and it worked like a charm last season.

Its what got us over the line in the end.

We have no hope of winning the title this year with three strikers ( 2 always suspect to soft tissue injuries ) and YAYA away in ACON once again.

I want us to maximise the chances of maximise the chances of us going back to back , not throw it away in a hearbeat on August 31 dancity19.

Alrite Scuttlebutt…still thinking the only story that rings true is the one on the website- or are you beginning to believe some of the stories in the media now.

Anyway, if he goes it will be the weirdest thing we have done in a while- selling a good striker, no backup, having 2 injury prone strikers (jovetic isn't even an out and out striker) and Yaya- a goal scorer- going to the AFCON. Weird.

Had we won Saturday, as we should have done, no one would give a shit about Falcao or anyone else for that matter.

Opens room for a potential monster signing next summer, no room for anyone new in the squad anyway. Fine with this.
Correct

There are undoubted negatives, but also a positive. Short term loss which we may or may not feel. Long term gain. And how did we know which Negredo we're losing, beast or chump?

David Villa on loan ?

We have missed out on Samuel Eto'o he would of done for a season or two.

We still have that option as in fat Frank ?

Not for the whole season with Lampard. Eto'o would of been good cover and would probably would of wanted to get one over Mourinho.

Absolutely rubbish end to the weekend if you ask me.

We have strengthened defensively this summer but we have weakened offensively.

We are going to have to find the 20+ goals Negredo got us last season from somewhere else which is very risky in my opinion.

Agreed.

If that's the case, we've become a bunch of spoiled, living in the last 5 minutes, knee-jerking twats.
