The doku thing was not a pen that is why , have you seen that bit of the game then ? Hmm, selective viewing me thinks

I watched the game, well had it on with my kids running around and sorting out Mothers Day meal.

If that was on one of your players would you honestly say that wasn't a penalty ?
I confidently predict you would have been asking me to explain and say VAR is corrupt (just like every Liverpool fan is today) and this thread would have been 20 pages longer.

I watched the game by way, well had it on with my kids running around and sorting out Mothers Day meal.
You think VAR is great though so it wasn’t really a good day for you yesterday if opinion is it was a definite pen?

That's not my opinion. I'm certain Kaz and many other would say that was definite if against them.
Personally i think could be called either way.
The ref and officials did a good job overall that match i thought.

You ever have a match in the background on whilst your busy doing other stuff ?

Have you got a clip of this dive ? which he didn't get awarded a penalty anyway...so err.. what's the issue? already stated players should be booked for diving (that's on the ref) ...before VAR a ref could point to the spot... you seem to want to go back to that.

Oi. Questioning var is not moaning.
Salah diving was your whole raison detre for var

Did Salah dive and get awarded a penalty ?

before VAR do you think there is a chance Salah could have been awarded a penalty for diving ?

very simple Yes or No's

so he didn't get awarded a penalty?
before VAR , a ''corrupt'' ref could/would have pointed to the spot .

My position has always been it's far more difficult to award a player clearly diving with no contact a penalty nowadays with VAR , before VAR any ref could just point to the spot.

I'm sorry, it hasn't. It used to be simply that VAR had cut out diving.

After some high profile incidents a couple of months ago, you changed to no-contact diving. And you know as well as I do, if someone dives with minimal contact and the referee gives it, then VAR won't intervene. If the referee doesn't give it, VAR won't intervene. So what's the difference? It's up to the referee to referee competently and consistently.

As for no-contact diving, there have always been ways to eliminate that by punishment in-game or retrospectively. Again, it's a question of competence and consistency.

And, once more, if we learned anything about Oliver yesterday, it was that he can referee a high-profile game reasonably competently and consistently. Which is all we can ask for.
