Exactly….Looking at the angle from behind the goal, I think there’s an argument that Leno delayed his dive because his own defenders blocked his initial view of Ake’s header.
The fact the head of the refs doesn't even realise Ake’s header comes from behind a defender, which is the most likely cause of any delayed reaction from the keeper is scary… A significant lack of base level understanding of the game!!Webb: "certainly appears Akanji has an impact on the goalkeeper who seems to hesitate"
With words like "appears" and "seems to" who could argue with such certainty.
VAR is garbage whether it goes for us or against us. If they insist on keeping it then we must hear the discussion in real time. The discussion should always go "this is fucking awful for fans, shall we get rid lads?"
Not sure it’d really be in Howard Webb’s interests for people to think VAR benefits City tbh.Interesting that they didnt reference the Liverpool goal and compare it to City’s therefore it appears we are getting a huge helping hand from VAR
I think the narrative is that City have benefitted more than anyone else so watch out for a levelling up of decisions over the seasonNot sure it’d really be in Howard Webb’s interests for people to think VAR benefits City tbh.
And 3 of the incidents they had picked showing to favour City, even if they where the right decisions..I think the narrative is that City have benefitted more than anyone else so watch out for a levelling up of decisions over the season
ALL is the key word.I think the programme is a huge step in the right direction. Webb claims he wants more transparency. They therefore need to analyse ALL the controversial incidents so that we can hear the decision making process that occurred for each. If they miss any obvious ones out, we will know it's a cover up and a sham.
It's bonkers. He's assuming the keeper is hesitating because Akanji is moving but Akanji is being wary enough to get out of the way. Otherwise any movement of any player stood in an offside position in future could be deemed to be affecting the keeper, they might as well change the rule.Webb: "certainly appears Akanji has an impact on the goalkeeper who seems to hesitate"
