VAR Discussion Thread | 2024/25

It has improved, but I come to that conclusion from my own eyes, not what some virgin on twitter has tallied up. When it was first introduced we was battered with it, Spurs in the CL and league not long after. Goals given like Spurs in the CL where they rewrite the rules afterwards towards handballs etc. We didn't ever get the rub of the green. I think now it is fairly even from my perspective, we still get clangers like the Rashford offside but get other bits in our favour. Like our pen finally at OT last year. It isn't against us, it certainly isn't for us either.
“Virgin on twitter”, stopped reading there.

Genuine question - are you happy Man Utd no longer get farcical penalty decisions there way on a weekly basis as someone else mentioned like they did prior VAR ? Simple Yes or No.

I think the silence says it all.

Fair enough if some don’t like VAR but it’s clearly not benefited the likes of Man Utd who could get away with so many blatant non penalty decisions go their way and reckless fouls on a weekly basis.
I wouldn’t want to return to those days.

The point is without VAR the decisions would have been allowed to stand, imagine the outrage and outcry when Stones winner got ruled out ? Would be massive cries of corruption.

VAR is far from perfect, will never get decisions 100% correct but as can tell this season it is very much needed

“VAR is far from perfect”
Bit like normal reffing then?

GPC’s wouldn’t have got away with all them penalties had we had VAR, that’s the point.

Week in, week out getting ‘corrupt’ penalty decisions - why would anyone want to go back to that ?
Put it to the fans and see what they say.
