Wasn’t this before VAR because VAR was introduced to stop any mistakes
Can't agree mate.VAR for corners is long overdue, can’t believe the amount of wrongly given goal kicks given instead of corners. Its a huge error from the officials on a regular basis and rather infuriating (when it’s for your team)
Or the on-field officials could just do their jobs properly?95% of Corner corrections could be communicated by VAR to the ref within 15 seconds of the ball going out.

They don't, because it's one of those situations they can apply the rules 'subjectively' as and when it suits them.Oooh, getting the corner/goal kick conundrum sorted but what about the WWF that goes on as the corner is taken. Another blight on the game that they don't want to solve.
Given the rise of throw ins as an attacking weapon is it them for the VAR treatment next?95% of Corner corrections could be communicated by VAR to the ref within 15 seconds of the ball going out.

No no no! Offsides are objective black and white decisions :-)SAOT camera's in the PL run at 100fps.
Fastest PL players can run up to 9.7m/s.
This equates to around 9.7cm per frame between on and offside for the fastest players IF the defender is static, but could be a greater distance if the defender is initially behind the ball and closing on the attacker.
Even if you half that speed for the slowest players it's 4.35cm per frame with the sane caveat regarding closing targets.
Basically, they are still guessing.

A corner is just a method of getting the ball back in play, as are throw-ins for that matter. Neither are supposed to be game-changing events. We need to stop inventing new rules for them. And until VAR can get everything right that it is supposed to do now, it should stay away from anything else, imho. Mission creep, anyone?

Corners are huge, look how Arsenal have benefited from them this season, keeps the opposition on the back foot and under pressure. Not being awarded a corner when it clearly should have been shouldn’t be casually accepted.
