VAR (PL introduction 2019)

They can find room for a extra 10,000 seats though!
Fucking state of it!

I love that picture

That’s the same without VAR.
At least if it’s a clear handball and the ref has missed it we get a correct outcome, not a ref waving it away because he didn’t see it.
Erm in the CL they didn't show the ref the behind the goal angle that showed the handball,it seems VAR have control over what the ref sees

This was said before the World Cup, instead it was one of the most exciting tournaments in recent history, VAR added to that.
I'm talking about the live game. I was in the stadium for the Spurs game in the CL and it was the worst feeling ever when that goal was ruled out. And next season, after decision after decision has been referred to VAR no one will expect an Aguero-type situation not to be referred to VAR. It'll kill the live game.

But surely it’s the worst feeling when a goal has been scored by a blatant offside or a blatant handball by officials not having a clue with the speed of the game.
It’s a travesty we’ve put up with it this long and at very long last we’re implementing ways to reduce to errors - the odd one will occur and will rightly be blown out of proportion. But they will always be relative to what we have put up with.
There’s plenty of times now when a teams scored, for fans to celebrate only for a flag to go up or the ref to point something out. We still celebrate.

VAR being shown on screens is a massive boost for transparency and something many have been screaming about , I suspect the moaners will now find something else to knock it.

VAR would be fine if it was an instant decision and everything was considered eg The encroachment when Sergio missed the pen and it was cleared by a player who was two yards in the box. The decision making is too long and to watch a game where 10mins is taken up by VAR studies is awful, spoils the flow of the game and the entertainment From what I’ve seen of VAR it is getting as many wrong as it it changes the wrong decision of the live ref The decision to give Switzerland a pen was another example of a wrong decision add to the Rag pen v PSG the pen v Otto the lack of showing angle to disallowed the Lorrente handball I also have doubts about deciding an offside by mm when a line is used to decide l,drawn on an image generated from a camera that is at an angle, with no certainty of when a ball was kicked

I've probably missed this, however, when a decision is referred to VAR, does the ref stop his watch? If so, and the decision is the opposite to that of the original decision, does the ref reset the watch to the time at when the insident took place or at the point when VAR is brought in to look at?
Or is it simply down to the refs discression?
At Schalke away the first penalty insident happened in 31st min, decision made in 34th and goal recored in 38th (I think?), I cannot recall 7 mins plus being played in the first half of injury time.
Though VAR is here I have a feeling that it may be used as a time wasting tactic in time. Hope I'm wrong
