2 games (Shalke and Burton) we have been stuffed by VAR and 1 United has benefitted ( Chelsea). New tech, same old outcomes. Wake up and smell the coffee.
I can see why we were big advocates for it in the premier league as opposed to Liverpool whom were against it.
Looking back on tonight I think it's a bad idea from our point of view. Like others have said - we have had loads of clear cut decisions go against us in the past, but after tonight it's the decisions that they can "manipulate" to go against US (in oppositions favour) that scares me. It will be used as an extra tool to fuck us over IMO.
UEFA says that the attacking phase should be checked which in this case was Silva winning the ball and passing it to Sergio. They shouldn't have been looking at the Laporte header at all. So were they and if so why?Funnily enough, whilst I'm disgusted with the shenanigans surrounding the use of VAR in relation to the first penalty, I'm more concerned about the use of VAR in relation to our goal. I'm not quite sure what was being reviewed.
As I saw it, there was a challenge it midfield which the ref saw as fair and play continued for several seconds including a period when the "wronged" team were in possession of the ball. They lost it and we scored. Were they reviewing the challenge in midfield ?
If so, it begs the questions of how far back in play they are prepared to go and the types of decisions they are prepared to review. There hasn't been a corner taken where you couldn't find something to hang a penalty on or a disallowed goal were you of a mind to.
Spanish ref from Madrid. It's for clear and obvious errors by the ref ,to watch something for nearly 3 minutes then it wasn't a clear or obvious
It was great. Just enough time to nip for a piss without missing anything.Won't ruin the flow of the game they said....
Just ban VAR - Will always be just as many if not more mistakes with it than before it; so it solves nothing and detracts from the game .Need clear set rules and if the referee dont stick to them they should be fined and banned for 1 game.

been saying it for months the rules need changing if VAR is going to work ?? it will not work alongside the old set of rules because the referee is losing some of his power,s and the game is about opinions and how the referee see's it in real time and VAR is using video frames so anything is possible and made to looks different just like last night with the hand ball ???
big big problems in VAR in football and unlike rugby or crickets football is about the ball and player and speed of movement of a player and speed/distance the ball is traveling from the moment its kicked to hitting its targe,t also how can you judge power in a tackle and meaning to hurt somebody with a hard but fair tackle ???
One rule should be not to watch any Var decision in super slow motion it should be in normal speed! In super slow motion everything looks like a foul or hand ball
and that's why matey ?? it will never work and how can you judge speed/distance and meaning and intent
you have to be there in the stadium watching it live to see and feel a football match sounds make a big difference and you can hear a good tackle to a bad tackle
Well var here to stay now its about where it will be in a couple of years hopefully it will have improved.
This is the first time i have seen it take this longWon't ruin the flow of the game they said....
Lol.They were right all along, thank goodness for UEFA
