VAR (PL introduction 2019)

Its not been broke....?? WTAF
so i take it since you have been following football 'depending on your age' could be 50 years, you have not been happy with the system,so why did you get involved with the game in the first place, on the old system decisions for or against usually even up during a game with VAR and a panel of corrupt decision makers it cant even up,the city v spurs game under a normal ref system- the spurs goal may or may not have been given and the city goal at the end would have been given, watch and wait VAR will ruin the game and probably get dropped unless the technology is in place for full 180 deg simulated angles like the simulated one with the ball not going over the line against Liverpool, computers have to make the decision not people

Well judging by its use in the WWC it’s going to be a joke and a disaster. Used to be in favour but seeing it used to give retrospective penalties, marginal judgement call offsides and decisions that are blatantly wrong while taking minutes to do it, I am not.

I’d rather we took our chances with the fallible human beings we have now.

It will still have the same human beings making the final decision Var provides a second chance to make a decision - hopefully the extra thinking space and opportunities for replays will lead to more correct decisions. The truly marginal calls that could go either way will still be at the mercy of human failings. Whether those failings are then due to incompetence of bias hardly matters.

Their should not be any margin for error even for 'the truly marginal calls' either its a goal or it is not or its a pen or its not, whats the point of switching to VAR if their is still margin for error, the only way this can be achieved is to remove the human decision, now i'm not sure if the technology is available but it certainly would be in the near future that a computer decision could be made in under a couple of seconds with a system monitoring the game from multiple angles 'probably make the decision quicker than a ref', for me if its being introduced then it has to be introduced correctly with the correct technology to assist, as it is now VAR could evolve in the game probably for the better but it dosent sit right with me as it is now

Sounds as though the PL will be doing its own thing to some degree.
The not expecting balls to be kicked at hands suggests that they will not be letting players benefit from doing so.

Good to see the handball rule being applied the way it has been the past few years in England i.e. the way the rules were written.

UEFA have turned the game into a lottery/circus with the way they apply it and the Champions League final was one of the biggest loads of shite I've ever seen.

And don't forget the World Cup final. Also ruined.

premier league have come out this morning saying VAR will not over take the referee in games ????

VAR will take over and for every little thing will be highlighted in the game because their is so much money and pressure in football to get the right result for the so called bigger clubs, manchester city are not seen big enough to have the power to lose a clip or have the wrong replay shown just like last season in the champions league ???

after last season and the world cup VAR is a joke ?? and with the offside rule they never look at the ball being play and leaving the foot ?? just the man and the red and blue lines, the ball leaving the foot is a big problem for VAR and they are judging all wrong, when ever i see a clip its the player touching the ball when the replay is shown ???, forget the new hand ball rules they are just silly and can be shown to favor a team by what replay they show

i will say 3 games into the new season they will be alarm bells ring about VAR and all the clubs will be calling for change and just use VAR for goals scored and not close offsides and hand ball ??? clear and obvious mistakes are not 1cm or 2cm calls offside or the ball bouncing up off somebody and hitting your hand ????
