Ultimately, we all want VAR to work better. Especially in communication. Even if people disagree with a decision, if they had the full reasoning for why they‘ve come to their decision, they would be more likely to accept it.

I want this as well... but can you imagine the uproar and dissection of everything the officials say?so much would easily be taken out of context and questioned, not saying that's a bad thing but i don't have hope that it would make everything all rosy.

Welcome back. Did you enjoy your 37 min break from the thread? ;-)
If you post stuff asking direct questions, I have a right of reply.

It’d be much longer if you didn’t.

I recognise that because you are old, you are sceptical about everything. It happens.

I really am happy to leave you lot to froth about VAR for a few days now, unless you have anything else you want to ask me?

Martin Samuel alludes to the fixture lists being manipulated by Sky/BT. So why can't VAR?
It was an excellent article, basically saying the fixtures are fixed to ensure a steady stream of big matches and who wants a last day City v Liverpool.....
So, yes if the Premier league can corruptly fiddle the fixture list why not anything else.
Separate to Var, but he asks about Bournemouths fixtures, City, Liverpool, Arsenal and again hinting it's fixed.

Superb article this

You think so? It read like a load of hand-wringing to me without any real suggestions about how to improve the situation.

And as for the perpetual question - why would decisions be influenced one way or the other - the author really expects us to believe he doesn't have any idea about how the PL can maximise the value of the product?
