No worries. It’s my ignorance, not yours.

"Stewart also suffered from a pronounced stutter that punctuated his dialogue on and off the set. But instead of being ashamed, Stewart made it a signature part of his identity. Actor Michael Palin of Monty Python fame explained, “Jimmy Stewart dealt with his stutter openly and elegantly – it became a charming part of his persona.”"

I learned something as well today then. Almost feel bad referring to it now.

Best thing to do is make a positive out of a negative if you can.

You know when the ref is sent to the monitor it is to change his mind , he should go on his own accord and with an open mind else var is controlling , reffing the game

Great in theory. Why else would he be asked to go to the monitor that to check a decision that could be wrong?

How about this. For next season, the Premier League scrap their association with PGMOL. They recruit referees, including foreign referees, they believe are competent. They are contracted to and paid for by the PL. Next summer they have a number of training courses where they interact, 'linesmen', refs and the VAR ref practice working together. They also practice working WITH technical experts. The teckys provide the lines for offside and ensure the frames used are the best available.
Too simple?

Reactions: mat
Italian VAR at it again. Bloke sent off for doing similar to what Haaland did against Palace was it?

Ref gave a free kick on field and VAR told him to check the decision and sent him off.

PGMOL are effectively an organisation working in and under the instruction of Premier League. What motivation would they have to disband it? You’re really suggesting nothing more than they change the name of it in practice.

Current pgmol refs shouldn’t be anywhere near the VAR room, always going to stick up for their mates or try to shaft their enemies.
The Premier League, rolling in money, should recruit a panel of elite retired refs from overseas to do VAR on an annual basis, and replace them every two years. No history with the clubs and not scared to call out errors by people who aren’t their old mates

Well it isn’t going to happen, however much you might like the idea. They see the VAR as an extension of the at game officials. All part of the same team working together. They even sit there wearing the same coloured refs shirt as the rest of the officials at the game.

The Premier League have no control of pigmol. They are contracted to them. They choose their members, operate their own rules (NDA's etc) they have no reason to improve as they still get the work.

So we will still be saying var is shit in 10 years time.

Serie A removing the drawing of the offside lines from the VAR's list of jobs.

It’s all they could say really barring hanging the blind ref out to dry.

I’d give the new system more than 2 match days before deciding it’s without flaws.

See how it works in the World Cup and if successful, bring it in at the start of the second half of the season.

Well Americans still whinge about the NFL video referees and they’ve been going the best part of 50 years. So I’d say, yes, most likely.
Which is why I mentioned the Premier League doing something and being proactive. Sack off Pigmob as it clearly is a useless but self serving organisation.
Why should Pigmob improve ? There is no threat to them.
Let's face it, they have the PL over a barrel at the moment.
