what prices are people seeing just for a standard check up for a cat? my kids are driving me mad asking for a cat every 5 minutes
They quoted me over £600 but the vet rang me and said she didnt give me the discount and gave me the new quote , i thought it was at least honest of her to do thatWell over £500 & you are getting a discount That just seems bonkers to me?
Reading this thread, ask them if they would they settle for a goldfish :-)what prices are people seeing just for a standard check up for a cat? my kids are driving me mad asking for a cat every 5 minutes
Yeah that's exactly what I'm thinking as well. I don't fancy being held hostage with ridiculous feesReading this thread, ask them if they would they settle for a goldfish :-)
That’s me decided then….Had dogs for the last 20 years and never had insurance. I reckon i'm a few grand up overall.
I’ve been quoted that for a dog plan which I may go for and rather than buy insurance just stick £50 away each month to cover the eventually of any problemsThey quoted me over £600 but the vet rang me and said she didnt give me the discount and gave me the new quote , i thought it was at least honest of her to do that
They run a heathy pets club ,for £15 a month it covers all flea and worm treatments , a free six month!y check up and 10% off all medications and turns out i got money off the operation as well. They are a decent practice but the cost of vets is shockingly bad . I have insurance for merlin but as i said the dental area is where they can say no
That sounds sensible , i might think twice about insurance next year , especially if merlins tooth is proved by Xrays and the vets report that is was an injury and they still wont pay outI’ve been quoted that for a dog plan which I may go for and rather than buy insurance just stick £50 away each month to cover the eventually of any problems
Why wouldn’t they cover it mate?We used to use a vet that was nicknamed £60 Claire, because it was £60 as soon as you walked through the door. My 7 year old Golden Retrievers ACL snapped in November last year, the vet we now use said he was too big for them to operate on so we were referred to some specialists and it cost £6,000 for the operation. It was £500 just for the x-ray. Our insurance wouldn't cover it all so I ended up getting a loan out because they wanted 75% up front. Thankfully he's made a good recovery but we still give him an anti-inflammotory called metacam which costs £75 from the vet, but I can buy it online for about £25.
