If we sign a RB then Richards maybe off but Veira is a midfielder so no chance

IMO the only thing that could happen with Veira signing is Vinnie dropping to CB and one less CB needed this window

Fair enough. I am trying to suss-out if Mancini would be happy to let Micah go...

Only if he finds a replacement, and there doesnt seem to be anything concrete right now.

Nah you can't class him as a marquee signing, I think he'll be a good addition though

Why not? He's a world famous player who has done it all. Yes, he's old but I don't think that effects the status of the signing.

Cos he's way past his peak. If there was a big announcement at City claiming we'd signed a secret marquee signing and it turned out ot be Vieira, people would feel a bit short changed and rightly so

For me Marque is about status, and he brings bags of that even in his 30's

You can't be sure of that. Even if we signed a right back Mancini might still want Micah as part of his squad and see him as an important player for the future. It's already been mentioned that Mancini might want Micah as a centre half

Re: Veira - Medical today

Excellent signing assumes it goes through.

Who better to bring on with 30mins to go to bring confidence and solidity to the team when in a strong position. Certain that if we had had him on the bench during all the Hughes games we were winning then we'd have many more points than we have now.

Don't expect him to start many though! Getting into winning positions isn't our problem, its keeping them and closing down games. Well done RM

Gutted we've signed someone else whose name hardly anyone can spell!

He will be good cover whilst MichAEl Johnson is injured ;)
he wont be coming in as cover though will he. he wants to get in the world cup squad so will have wanted assurances that he will play. personally i think this is a stupid move. a loan would of been fine but to offer him a lengthy contract on probably astronomical wages is plain daft. i thought we might have stopped signing past it players now we have money. clearly not.

Re: Veira - Medical today

viera was a great player, last season in europe he was poor, do we really need him we already have quality players in midfield. to old, to slow, has he got the heart??
even his old teamate lee dixon says he wont hack it

Re: Veira - Medical today

Don't see the point in this. Im sure he's not goin to come as back up he's come to play and he's nowhere near as good as De Jong now.

Wenger let him go a few years ago when his form starting dipping and from his time in Italy he's been proved right.
