Vieira on loan (Merged)

Hold on... on loan still means we have to pay his wages right? If he really earns 150000 a week then he would cost us 3.6million. That is quite a lot of money for a 6 month contract....

But without being silly about it, the time it took you to type that post was the same time it took for the Sheikh to pay Vieiras first weeks wages. It is like you having a thousand pounds in 10p's in your pockets, and spending one of those 10 p's, only to find 20p a minute later. It is nothing and if he improves the team, what do we care? its not our money!

Of course... but still... just because money is no problem, does not mean we should waste it...

And uh oh, Wenger says Viera is still good enough for the Premier League.... if he gives us the green lights to get him we should stay clear.

What do you think? According to the Beeb's football site Bobby Manc is interested in signing him. Do you think at 33 he'd be up to it?
In his day he was arguably one of the best midfileders in the world, but he's had a few injuries and at his age he's obviously well past his best.

Who knows? Could be an inspired signing, or a total flop.

really kent blue, how did u find out about this, are you ITK?

Edit. Just seen the previous topic about him. Sorry chaps.

Viera will be a great signing, he's won everything British football has to offer and he wants to play in the World Cup so has an incentive to play well. He's not costing much money (even if he is our owners can afford it) His arrival wont disrupt the squad because they'll know Viera isn't a long term threat to their place in the team. If we're in need of hanging on to slender lead against a top team, Viera would be a great person to bring on to see the game out. His height is also a great advantage, I'm all for this signing, sooner we get him in the better.

Can't see him being happy to sit on our bench in World Cup year.

Yeah I was thinking about that after I posted. Its Mancini's job to keep everyone happy and pick the strongest team so its also upto him to convince Viera its worth joining, maybe Viera wont think its worth making the move, if he does sign though, I think its a good signing for us.

Please not..

some people are so narrow minded.

look at the Boro game at weekend - we desperately needed to rest our midfield ahead of the derby (before it was called off....), so much so that Barry was on bench and we took Nige off and ended up with Sylvia playing central midfield.

who would you prefer to play central midfield, Sylvia or Vieira?

not too tricky to answer is it.....

Exactly mate, a couple on injuries is all it takes for us to have to start playing people out of position. If Viera signs hopefully we could rest players in certain games, something we cant really afford to do at the moment.
