Nothing against them but I don't think they were particularly good supporting their team on the day. Could barely hear anything from them where I was apart from a bit of shouting 'handball' which quetened down when we were awarded a penalty (karma).

Plenty of noise from City next to them though & all round the ground tbf.

It was about 33k wasn't it. As I said originally I think it's irony as most fans recognise us as being loyal. But the fact remains there wasn't a waiting list nor did the sold out signs go up every game!

Not bad for Division 3 pal and the fact we had shitty stands like the Gene Kellys

You've missed the main point there mate, not many clubs have one of the worlds most successful and famous clubs just a few miles up the road eating into our potential fan base.

For me this is what has made us the way we now are, 15-20 years of under achieving, heartache and ridicule yet we could still bring in 33k for a 3rd division match when in essences we could have just gone 3 miles up the road and watched a team that seemed to sleep with lady success every frigging week. 33k would turn up knowing in their heads we weren't going to win anything worthwhile, but our hearts wouldn't let that small fact get in the way.

33k is incredible and that's why you get other fans trying to dismiss that fact, but which ever way they twist it "that is some support".

Just spurs now and all our single-mindedness would have payed off.

I've been to Villa Park many a time when the place has been deserted. A good season and it's full to bursting. I certainly don't think their fans are anything special and they were giving it the big one after the match yesterday from inside the new police cordon.

Before the match in The Waldorf some Villa clown was eagerly describing Barry as a "mercenary c***" to anyone who was interested. Although you can't take anyone seriously with that accent, I asked him to name one player who doesn't play for the money. The silence deafened me. They seem to have a bee in their bonnet about Barry; the same as Everton have with Lescott. Barry was leaving whatever happened. The fact that he came to us is irrelevant. Players come and go. Villa fans need to get over Barry, but they can't. Then again, some people need to get over Richard Dunne's transfer. Good luck to him at Villa but let's have it right: he'd gone stale at our place and the change of scenery has obviously done him the world of good - if you could describe Birmingham as scenic that is!

As for the inevitable stick about our history during the first half; this is such a regular thing nowadays that it's lost all possible meaning.

Don't aggree mate, thought they were ok, came in fancy dress and made a bit of a day of it. Few 'knobs' outside after the game but again our lads were involved in that again.
Before we start knocking away support and yes there has been some sh@t ones at COM's but no way are Villa a sh@t club and support.
Sunderland away for us was poor, it was like being in a church, couldn't sell out Middlesbrough and sent back 350 tickets to Sunderland.
Lets not worry about what the away support is like and come Weds and if we go 0-1 down lets get behind the lads and drown out the Spurs fans, not sit there like a church on Sunday.
