When David O'Leary was there the crowds were pathetic.
Was it him who called them fickle?

My thoughts entirely. I wanted any English team barring Uniturd to do welland enjoyed those teams success. How times change. If I knew Liverpool and Villa were going to turn regress to what they are now, I would not have been so supportive. I expect Forest fans to sing "you'll never win that" about the Chimps League as a wind up. Having known several Forest fans - sound, proper supporters -I cannot imagine their fans being such arseholes like Villa and Liverpool fans predominantly are.I always supported English teams in Europe back then, some of my favourite footballing memories in fact and can probably still recite most of the Forest, Ipswich, West Ham, Everton, Villa and Liverpool sides , and was always really pleased for their fans, interestingly though, despite this, it was only ever the red dippers who’d gob off and “rub it in your face” as if you didn’t want them to (weird fuckin cunts).
With the benefit of hindsight and how football and it’s fans have “developed”, I genuinely wish I’d cheered on the other teams in the cases of Villa and the red dippers, both insufferable cunts.
Eh?A forgetable European Champs just like Nottingham Forest.
Leaded petrol and paintHaha I think people back then just liked a scrap, only three TV channels in those days!
Fuck me I never realised that. 4 rounds and you’re in the final. The difficulty was winning your league the season before I guess.
Valur 7–0 First round Dynamo Berlin 2–2 (a) Second round Dynamo Kyiv 2–0 Quarter-finals Anderlecht 1–0 Semi-finals
Tough old route to the final
Liverpool and Bayern got byes in some of the rounds in the 70s on the way to winning the European Cup n’all. Piss easy to get to the final in those days.Fuck me I never realised that. 4 rounds and you’re in the final. The difficulty was winning your league the season before I guess.
Which is why when people say winning the European Cup was a bigger achievement than the Champions League they are talking utter bollocks, as if 32 league champions represent the best 32 clubs in Europe.Liverpool and Bayern got byes in some of the rounds in the 70s on the way to winning the European Cup n’all. Piss easy to get to the final in those days.
Agree luckily they will not remind us when we play them.lolEh?
Forest winning the European Cup twice is the most memorable of all the English sides in that competition and arguably the greatest achievement given where Clough and Taylor found them in the middle of Division 2.
We just need to sing “Centurions, you’ll never sing that” back to themAgree luckily they will not remind us when we play them.lol
Or - "Winning a treble, you'll never sing that" would be a great reply as well.We just need to sing “Centurions, you’ll never sing that” back to them
