5 games in a row now. Hopefully he can put his injury problems to rest cos he really is important to us. And wow what about his goal?

All the right soundbites but we've had this for a few years where our players talk the talk and then fail to back it up.

Let's not talk about home form being a problem anymore, until we've actually turned a corner and moved forward with a much more respectable home record.
He backed it up today, great to see the big man score.

Indeed he did, as did the team. It was more in reference to the team in general, than Kompany's talk himself but let's keep it going now.
Yep. Win the next two home games and we should be breathing a sign of relief at the end of the season.

Played well today, but he really does get caught out in some horrible positions and picks up cards for deliberate checks; think he's had one in almost every game back.
In his defence, I think today's yellow may have been down to Otamendi playing a dangerous ball across the defence which surrendered possession and left us exposed.

Immense today. I think when he was in and out of the side due to his injuries he was a little circumspect during his occasional performances. This led to him being quiet and less of a leader - today after a few games in you could see him organising and barking out instructions. Confidence returning by the game - no brainer to keep him in the side next year if he maintains his fitness. Otamendi is ok and scored a great goal but his stray passing led to Komps getting a booking. Next season hopefully Stones can learn from the master.

What a goal. Our captain was immense again today. Praying he stays fit. One of the best Centerbacks in the world.

His passing is so, so underrated. World class defender.

What a shame he's been unfit these last two seasons. What could have been as he's unstoppable when on form

He was actually feeling it today & a little bit fatigued but he & Otamendi (& Clichy at times tbf) were looking after each other, like proper defenders, so when one held the player up, the other covered.

One incident in the first half when he just let Benteke have the ball, then burst through him, headed it & fucked off as he controlled it: class.

Think it was De Bruyne who played that ball. That yellow wasn't particularly his fault, he was attempting to clean up a mess.

He's obviously confident in his physical condition cos he is playing unencumbered and it shows. Fantastic again.
