Physical players are often not good coaches. Everton did this experiment with Unsworth and it failed. We can not be sentimental. Post-pep period is very crucial for club. People who favor free-flying technical football like Arteta or tuchel must be successors.
I agree with the sentiment. Overly physical, borderline nutjobs very often do not make good coaches. Players who rely on their aggressiveness and aura to get by in football..the likes of Keane and Gattuso for example. Dickheads basically

Vinny isn't. Vinny is hard, very fucking hard. But he isn't brain dead or a dickhead..

He is a very bright man.

On the general issue of who makes a good coach, I'd say the ones who struggle are those who are so supremely talented that they can't comprehend why others can't do the same thing. Those who had to work and have empathy for others in the same position get it far more than those who find it all easy.

But there are always exceptions.

Of couse i am not comparing vincent with roy keane. I am aware how intelligent kompany is. But giving former player man city manager job just because he was legend and loves club would be irrational. I would prefer tuchel or nagelsman after pep as they are proven.

He loves Wembley. I'm a huge Silva fan but I do wonder whether Kompany is actually our best ever player
Arguable that he is top 5. Definitely not the best ever. Great Captain, but hasn't played often enough to touch the likes of Silva, Yaya, Aguero, Bell and soon to be Debryune.

So no, not the best ever. Not by a long shot.

I wouldn't say he is our greatest player either, but the not played enough argument doesn't hold - he has more minutes for us than Silva, Yaya and Aguero.

I'd had a few on Sunday when I posted that!

I agree, without injuries maybe but he's missed too much important football. He might be our most impressive statesman though!
