I can't recall the last time Vinny played as well as Sunday. Really pleased for him.
This is the Kompany of old - best CB in world football.

Alas... I fear that his next injury is just around the corner - sadly so, because he's a tremendous talent and great team player.

I think we all fear that mate, but he was superb on sunday. I just hope he's still here to lift the champions league whenever we win it.

The thing is, despite all the injuries and frustration, does anyone for a single second doubt that he is Manchester City's captain? The club captain?

All the players know it, the fans know it, the media know it. It says a huge amount about him as a person.

Flawless again today. Had even more fast runners at him tonight like Welbeck, Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan and he didnt give them a sniff. His passing was phenomenal, at the level of Otamendi and Laporte. Great in the build up to the 3rd goal under pressure, and also had an unreal long range pass to Sane. He is back!

As much as I want him to play against Chelsea, I’m so afraid that 3 big games in 7 days with a lot of traveling to and from London (I may be wrong on the traveling and it’s possible they stayed for the week I’m unsure) may just take its toll on the great man, and none of us want him to pull up and be out for however many more weeks at this stage of the season, so I’d be inclined to rest him, we need Vinnie fit for the business end of the season which is coming up. Having said that if he started and came through unscathed I’d be delighted for him, we’re a far better team with him in it and I’m delighted he’s proving his doubters wrong. I still think his game time needs to be managed and Pep needs to be clever about it so we can get the most from our club captain and maximize his overall playing time. I was surprised but delighted to see him start last night against the arse

The team went back to Manchester after the final and traveled by train to London on matchday yesterday. I was a bit suprised he played tonight as i thought maybe 3 matches in a week were too much for him. I agree with you its a risk vs Chelsea but Pep has been brilliant at managing his game time and he and his staff will know best.
