Walking Dead series 5

I've not watched it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. For me the best thing about the show is the character development. The plot holes are neither here nor there, it's a zombie apocalypse ffs, that's the biggest plot hole right there.

Well I enjoyed it.

Gutted that Tyreese has gone. I can think of a few others I'd actually like to get bit before him. That's what makes it good though, it keeps you on your toes. I can't understand all the whinging about it tbh. Aside from a main character getting popped off, it set us up nicely for the next big storyline. Who is behind all those weird walker mutilations? Can't wait to find out.

Big fan of the show but even I struggled to enjoy that episode. Pretentious to the max; like some kind of sixth form media project where they try to demonstrate 'meaning' when there is none. It all felt so contrived.

It annoys me how much TV shows often hold their audience in such contempt; it's as if they think we're too stupid to identify meaning and messages subtly, so they try to shove it in our faces instead.

Also, why doesn't anyone ever get a bollocking for their selfishness and stupidity? They should be used to the situation now, they all know what they're up against and what gets people into trouble:
After that lad ran off to his house despite being told to stay put, which culminated in the necessary death of one of their crew, Rick really should be giving him a slap

I agree with both points. At this point I'm watching it for free sake of it. It's not entertaining or very interesting any more. Essentially it's not much better than LOST, which was criminally deceptive. We are being milked. If I had some self respect I'd give it up now.

To the post above, I wish they would vamp the Zombies up a bit, maybe a weird occurrence happens where the Zombies gain speed like in 28 weeks later. However I know they're are trying to stick to the comics (i.e. last episode) which I haven't read so I don't know whats install for the gang.

My thoughts on latest episode:
Glad they're finally moving away from Georgia/Atlanta, they need to go to another big city like Washington, to see if civilization exists. The Tyrese death bugged me however, I get the point behind them wanting to restart with a bang, but the excuse that now Judith is back with Rick so Tyrese no longer has any goals is pointless, also how crap was his death, I mean, at least make it a proper WOW moment!

One of the things I have always liked about WD is that the zombies are kind of just incidental. They're basically props, part of the environment. In other words, the show isn't really about zombies, it's about people in a post-apocalyptic world (which just happens to be one where there are zombies).

That said, I wish they'd just get back to the themes of power-struggles, revenge, co-operation and survival, rather than dedicating whole episodes to the internal existential quandaries of the show's most boring characters.

I've stopped watching it, the storyline got daft and that kid is just an annoying shit.

The first 3 series were great but it's turning in to lost with stupid storyline and internal politics. It had the potential to be a great set of series but they have completely fucked the story line up and just made it in to a money spinner.

They will need to kill off Ricks son soon as he will have gone from a 10 yr old boy to an 18 yr old man with stubble in the shows time frame of 2 years.

Also seeing as this series is set in America why are there no morbidly obese zombies sorry walkers.

Also no 3yr to teenage years that I can see !!
