Watford (H) Post Match Thread

Seen MOTD now -and first goal should have been given as offside - However subjective the interpretation is - Sterling is active and what is the defender supposed to do - just let it run and trust the officials? - that's not realistic. I would be annoyed if that was given against us - so have to be relieved it was given for us - but would have no complaints if it wasn't.

But it wasn't the turning point for the match - Watford were never going to be able to keep holding out for another 45 minutes. It might have made the ending a little more nervy - but I doubt it. sadly the controversy takes away the focus from another dominant display Sterling came up with the goals but another wonderful centre forward display from Sergio - always dangerous, always available for the pass, worked so hard.

first half was shocking ??? and we just could not get going and watford just settled for 10 men behind the ball and worked hard defending also the referee was shocking all game and lost the plot, i will say the worst official of the season miss just about everything even from silly things like stone wall corner and throw-inns and looked like he was drunk ???

2nd half big mistake again by the officials and how can 4 officials and VAR working in the back ground not rule that offside, even the letter of the law says sterling is offside when aguero touch the ball ?? so what a free goal and we will take it with open arms first for many months, after that sterling was unstoppable and looked to have another level in his boots and legs, so another win a big win in fact very hard to knock anybody and when teams come to sit and park the bus how can somebody get to grip's of the game ?? its very boring and its like watching training practice

so after the week of bashing anything with a manchester city tag in the media, the football and team did what its been doing all season and just got on with it and lets the football do the talking for us, the mind games others are using will go on and if people think it will work on pep and this squad of players thing again

Good win, glad to see Mahrez doing well and Sterling scoring a hatrick. It feels we are not appreciated enough for having the ability to produce results in face of park buses every week. It must be mentally tough and exhausting.

Liverpool relinquished their lead when teams started to sit back. 8 more to go, comeon city.
Yeah, people don’t seem to get it. Liverpool fan I know was harping on about how they hit 5 against Watford’s first team but we only scored 3 against their reserves blah blah blah, but if you look at how Watford set up against Liverpool to how they set up against us, us scoring 3 against that bus is more impressive, as they are now finding out with their 0-0’s.

But, unfortunately for us, Sean Dyche will naively rock up today with 2 up front as per normal and lose 4-0.
