Watford sold out

Right, I've just e-mailed Watford:

Good afternoon,

Is there any possibility that you can please confirm how many tickets you allocated Manchester City for the final match of the season? As I understand it, Premier League rules state that the away team are entitled to either 10% of the capacity or 3000 tickets, whichever is the lower. This would mean that away fans at Vicarage Road would be entitled to just over 2100 tickets which, from memory, is what MCFC were allocated for last season's corresponding fixture. However, MCFC's website announced that we have only been allocated 1800 tickets. Of course, this could simply be a typo and the allocation may be greater. Your clarification of the actual figure will be much appreciated.

Best Regards,

Fair play to Watford - less than 2 hours after e-mailing them yesterday, they responded. Unfortunately, they won't confirm the allocation and have suggested I ask City instead - as if they'll come clean!

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for your email.
You will need to contact Man City’s ticket office and for information on away match tickets and the allocation.
They should be able to clarify this for you.

Kind Regards,

That's very odd that they won't confirm the allocation. Suggests that they did send more than the 1,800 we are being told we received but don't want to admit it as they know it will open a can of worms.

Kind Regards,

Just had a trawl through other clubs sites to see what the away allocation has been at Watford this season and from what is available it appears that just over 2,100 is what it has been this year.

No it just suggests that they are not prepared to discuss what is, after all, a business decision with a fan, they will discuss it with the people who are responsible for our business Manchester City, but not with a fan. It is rather like a solicitor or a doctor not discussing individual cases.

Yeah, that's what we've all been saying on here mate. So the question is - who has creamed off the other 300-odd tickets? Is it City or Watford? I think most of us suspect who it is and it's unlikely to be Watford. I suppose it could be argued that Watford not telling me could mean there is a slight possibility that they have something to hide and have given us a reduced allocation but I'm sure City would've had something to say about that, and the more likely reason for Watford not disclosing the allocation is that they understandably aren't going to reveal that information to a random fan.

Agree that it's not odd to not let me know but thought I'd ask them anyway just in case.

Every team has received just over 2100 tickets this season. I have spoken with a family of Watford fans who live close to me who have season tickets seated next to the away fans and they have confirmed this.

As my old gran used to say, if you don't ask you don't get to know. In this case, unfortunately, it didn't work but you did get to know that they wouldn't tell you!! Sorry. Hope you didn't think I was getting at you. It is just a case of ......aaaarrrrggghhh....... something doesn't feel right again!! :-)
