Wearing your City top in public

I shit you not with this.
Just returned from Boston. The American Concierge recognised our accents (possibly my City cap too) and asked was I a City supporter, or a supporter of some club in trafford.
I obviously replied City - his response "oh the oil club", I didn't have the time/patience to correct the fool
They have the Houston Oilers over there so might not be so bad!

My youngest had his City shirt on whilst being checked in at the Hard Rock Hotel in Tenerife , the concierge made a comment about no history club! He didn’t get a tip!
I wonder what year history starts and ends? I’m guessing 1980 to 2010? 30 years should do it. Best to ignore the other 120 as it just makes things messy.

The concierge would have soon shut up or smiled and said he was only joking ,if you or your lad had started reeling some of our history off to him,if you dont fight back he will do it to the next guest.

i have always expected some sort of negative comment every i time wore a city top / coat / hat etc in the past ..... and i purposely wear them much more nowadays to flaunt our success in the nay sayers faces

its amazing how positive the reactions are from non british people when abroad from both locals and tourists compared to the brits and irish who have constant exposure to the fleet street / sky propaganda machine

Every time we win the league I buy the new shirt and have the GOLD premier league badge put on the sleeve

I have great pleasure pointing to it and saying 'you havnt got one of them this year have you' whenever anyone pipes up
