Welbeck vs Balotelli

Baconface is doing the same with Wellbeck as he does with all of his ex-academy that show a bit of promise. He gives them runs out in the first team where surrounded by the full scum 1st team they can look good. A 1 legged cripple would score a few goals if put in a striker position in their first team.

This drives their price up so he can offload to a mug like Steve Bruce who actually discovers after a season that they weren't that good anyway. Wellbeck will become an £8m sale to some team like Sunderland, Bolton, Fulham and be on a par with the likes of Zamora, Andy Johnstone, Agbonlahor - if he really improves he may become as good as Darren Bent (which is pretty good tbf but no-one would consider DB to be world class).

I'll believe he's got real talent when he is regularly playing for them (and scoring) against teams like us, Chelsea, top euro sides in CL as opposed to starts against QPR, Norwich, the mighty WBA with occasional sub appearances against the big teams.

Someone else put it best, when Balo was winning his young player Ballon D'Or and a CL winners medal, Danny Wellbeck was loaned out to Preston.

end of thread
and i second it

I want to know who else nashark has played with/against.

Figo, Ronaldo Lima, Zidane, Rivaldo, Socrates, Abedi Pele, Jamie Rednapp to name a few so his football knowledge is far superior to yours.

just look at the video game ratings you'll see why, Mario is already up into the 80s at 20. Welbeck is about the same age and still in the 70s.

end of argument period

Yeah lets go by FIFA 12 ratings.

Wellbeck reminds me of a sh*t Andy Cole. His touch is sh*t, he can't beat a man, he can't pass and he stinks of p*ss.

But seriously how deluded are some rags!! Balotelli is pure class he can pass, dribble, play darts, score from anywhere.

According to a United fan (who would go if he could get a ticket, but used to go all the time) - After Inter were quoted as saying "we would love to have Balotelli back" the president said yeah but that's only cause we can't afford Wellbeck!!

Welbeck is just the new Frazier Campbell, if the scum actually had some money and could buy a stricker then Welbeck like Campbell would have been flogged for £4 million to the elephant man

I've played with and against Welbeck and obviously at that level, he was a monster purely because of his athleticism. At this level, along with Balotelli, they're both pretty ordinary.

Balotelli has Welbeck's athleticism but when he cuts in on his right, Balotelli has one of the best shots in the game. Other than that, if you consider the importance of first touch and being able to pass, that's not enough - they're both substandard. They obviously have a certain bit of talent, but the game's no longer about athlete's. You can cheat the stats for a while, but you'll eventually get found out. Balotelli's lucky he has somebody who has a lot of faith in him in Mancini. I don't think many other top level managers would want anything to do with him.

What Welbeck has over Balotelli is reliability, work-rate and probably intelligence (though by no means is he a clever player), all drummed into him from being brought up in England.

Welbeck's more of a man as well, but Balotelli is more talented.
I can't believe this went on for another 15 pages. Summarised on page 1

nashark, you seem to have some weird delusions of grandeur, and a very low intelligence level. You may claim to have a great football knowledge, but if you do, you don't articulate it well.
You have formed your opinions based on those of others, you have claimed Jose didn't rate him, you were proved wrong, Mourinho did rate him. You have claimed if he were any good he would have played more often at Inter, ignoring the fact that he was 18/19 at the time and competing for the 1 striker birth with Et'o and Milito two top level experienced European strikers. To say he's of no real quality because he failed to dislodge these players at just 18/19 shows a lack of intelligence. You question Mario's intelligence levels, can you speak two languages fluently? Could you pass a driving test in a foreign language in a foreign country? His football intelligence is there for all to see in his first goal against the Rags in the 1-6. His movement is brilliant, his positioning excellent, yes his decision making is sometimes a little off to the dam right ridiculous, but that is what genius gives you. Welback is an interesting comparison. yet as with comparisons in football a little bigoted. Yes they are young but that is where is stops, Welbeck is a grafter, runs all day and strong a common thing with British strikers. Balotelli is different, people expect him to be something different. because he's a big black lad, they expect him to have all the attributes of Ish Miller. His positioning, movement, touch and finishing are similar to Weah or Ronaldo(original) like when we signed Aguero everyone thought we had the next Tevez, Aguero is far more like Romario than Tevez. People expect him to chase everything, put a real shift in, would they do this if he was a long haired Italian no10? Did fans expect Di Canio, Zola, Bergkamp, Cantona, Henry to chase round like Efan Ekuku?
You have compared him to Welbeck who most seem to agree is decent, but nothing special. Similar ages, Balotelli has starred twice against United, started the season on fire, scoring all types of goal. Both Fergie and Mourinho have gone on record admiring his talent, yes Mourinho questioned his talent, yet while I'd never question Mourinho's managerial ability, he is very unproven at youth development, he obviously prefers established players over up and coming talent. To question Balotelli's ability because he struggled to win a regular place in the starting xi in his teens whilst competing with 2 top class players.
I don't like Mario because he's in Heat, however I do admire his individual flair and his eccentricities, I love his personality and I don't subscribe to anyone else's views to form my own.
Whilst you must have some good opinions, (I agree to compare Onouha to Richards is laughable) to consider Balotelli anything other than an immense talent with the world at his feet is just odd. To compare to Welbeck well that's just weird. Mario has already done more than Welbeck, by a long way, and all this without hitting anywhere near the heights most would expect him to reach. The fact that he is an insatiable personality, buckets of charisma and the eye for the ridiculous makes him all the better in my opinion. Young, talented, charismatic, brilliant, multi lingual, charming, entertaining and he produces on the pitch and that's still not enough, what more do you want?
