Welbeck vs Balotelli

If you want someone to score great goals, create chances for other players, use his brain to find space and do all this in a rather entertaining fashion, Balotelli is your man.

If you want someone to run around and barge into defenders, whilst occasionally scoring a goal, go for Welbeck.

Welbeck versus Paul Dickov would be a fairer comparison tbh.

Had this discussion with my mate he said Welbeck will have a better career than Balotelli. He also said he would rather have him in his team (yes he is a rag). He compared them as they both have parents from Ghana and around the same age. This was before the season started.

I have been following Balotelli for a while and if you check old posts was one of those who backed him even when most gave him stick, why?. I always saw his raw talent and natural ability and when I said he was the best young footballer in the world I was laughed at. Now?. Everyone is saying it. There is no comparison between the two I dont even see Welbeck staying at United for too long.

Its like comparing Michael Jordan to another guard. Or Michael Jackson to Robbie Williams, one is just the best to ever do it the other a talented artist/athlete who is capable but thats about it.

Baconface is doing the same with Wellbeck as he does with all of his ex-academy that show a bit of promise. He gives them runs out in the first team where surrounded by the full scum 1st team they can look good. A 1 legged cripple would score a few goals if put in a striker position in their first team.

This drives their price up so he can offload to a mug like Steve Bruce who actually discovers after a season that they weren't that good anyway. Wellbeck will become an £8m sale to some team like Sunderland, Bolton, Fulham and be on a par with the likes of Zamora, Andy Johnstone, Agbonlahor - if he really improves he may become as good as Darren Bent (which is pretty good tbf but no-one would consider DB to be world class).

I'll believe he's got real talent when he is regularly playing for them (and scoring) against teams like us, Chelsea, top euro sides in CL as opposed to starts against QPR, Norwich, the mighty WBA with occasional sub appearances against the big teams.

Someone else put it best, when Balo was winning his young player Ballon D'Or and a CL winners medal, Danny Wellbeck was loaned out to Preston.

Which one likes kids out of Balotelli/Welbeck?

The "Tiger Woods rule" comes into play here. Like I tell my girl when you are that talented or that successful you should have a window given to you that people ignore your fuckups.

*coughs R.Kelly*.

Such a shame for Gary G that he was not that talented.

What ego's that?

And what has Fergie said about Balotelli?

Your mate Mourinho seems to echo what I've said about him:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3072874/Jose-Mourinho-warns-Manchester-City-over-Mario-Balotelli.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... telli.html</a>

But what does Mourinho know?

The problems between him and Mourinho were personal. Mario didn't like Jose and Jose didn't like Mario. If you can't see his obvious talent then you probably don't watch enough football, and no one can convince you otherwise.

I said he has a certain degree of talent.

But I, like Mourinho, wouldn't have him in my team because I don't think he is intelligent enough.

I'm guessing Mourinho doesn't watch enough football either.

I think a lot of people like Balotelli because he's made for the celebrity age. An age where people are more obsessed with the individual than the footballer, much the way women love their Heat magazine and all that crap. That's probably all there is to it, and I've just realised it's pointless even engaging in this debate because some won't see because they get off on all that wacky shit he does. I'll leave it there because I don't think anyone challenging my opinion has any insight at all.

Classic example of someone who faces the dichotomy of not wanting to believe the press but gets sucked right in every time.
