I said he has a certain degree of talent

But I, like Mourinho, wouldn't have him in my team because I don't think he is intelligent enough.

I'm guessing Mourinho doesn't watch enough football either.

I think a lot of people like Balotelli because he's made for the celebrity age. An age where people are more obsessed with the individual than the footballer, much the way women love their Heat magazine and all that crap. That's probably all there is to it, and I've just realised it's pointless even engaging in this debate because some won't see because they get off on all that wacky shit he does. I'll leave it there because I don't think anyone challenging my opinion has any insight at all.

The last sentence of your post suggests that you're an arrogant , autocratic prick.

Very insightful.

I thought you were leaving it there?

Nashark, performances are hard to measure. But outcome of performances are not. Look at the amount of goals they have scored and level which they are playing at at the moment.

Balo is twice the player Welbeck is. You seem to be using you're bias opinion as you must know him in some way personally. Which is pathetic.

The debate on Balotelli's lost as I've mentioned (Heat magazine and all that), but not once have I said Welbeck is more talented than Balotelli. I don't know Welbeck and would never be biased against a City player.

The problems between him and Mourinho were personal. Mario didn't like Jose and Jose didn't like Mario. If you can't see his obvious talent then you probably don't watch enough football, and no one can convince you otherwise.

What ego's that?

And what has Fergie said about Balotelli?

Your mate Mourinho seems to echo what I've said about him:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3072874/Jose-Mourinho-warns-Manchester-City-over-Mario-Balotelli.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... telli.html</a>

But what does Mourinho know?

Did you not see the demolition derby? If you don't think the kid has immense talent after watching that there's really nothing more to say. And he's not even the finished article. Strength, vision, finishing, overall footballing intelligence, he's got it all.

Watch him vs. Poland yesterday. He's starting to come on as the footballer everyone knew he could be if he just kept his head down and worked hard.

So you know better than mourinho,Mancini, everybody in the Italian national set up and all the people who judge for young player of the year? If that's insight I'm glad I've got none.

No, you're making out that Mario is some ordinary youngster who will get the odd cap for Italy and if he is lucky may play in the Champs League a few times playing the odd time competing for a place with other average strikers. No. He is 21 years old. Give it 5 years and he will be up there with the best in the world. Welbeck on the other hand, will be playing for Sunderland or Everton.

Danny Welbeck attended my daughters school in Hulme , Manchester , and his potential to be a professional footballer was all too evident , even back then ....... and to be fair he's made enormous strides , and looks to be a real 'find' for the rags ..... it makes me wonder how the City scouts missed him to be honest , but he wouldn't be the first Manchester lad to have been overlooked by us.

But he definetely cannot match Balotellis immense talent as of yet , not does he possess the sheer magnetism or charisma of Mario , and Welbeck relies on a prominent workrate to see him through .... as he did when he played for England tonite.

Both players have it in them to eventually reach the top ..... and i suspect that both of them will too.

Welbeck is just a headless chicken reminds me of Huckerby bags of pace but no end product.

Comparing him to Mario is like comparing a xr2 with a Ferrari. Mario has that extra bit of class where as Welbeck he'll join the line of rag greats such as Luke Chadwick, Chris Eagles, and Mark Robins.

Wellbeck runs his socks off for his team, and he will do exactly what his manager asks of him. He could score 20-25 goals a season, given a good run of games.

But he will never get you off your seat or create a moment of brilliance that has you picking your jaw up off the floor. This is what makes Mario better, even if he does get sent off in the semi final of the champions league for a karate kick on Messi, he is a Bergkamp to Wellbeck's Andy Cole.
