Welbeck

One thing to note though: in every advance statistics website i have seen, Welbeck is rated higher than Balotelli by a mile(whether it be Castrol Rankings, whoscored.com or epl player performance index).

Good thing that any advanced statistics website that claims to be able to prove that one player is better than another is talking out of their arse. Remember that Wellbeck played nearly 700 minutes more than Balo, a decent time to rack up numbers.

But if we are talking stats, I do like Balotelli's goal every 102 minutes played compared to Wellbecks goal every 224.

Yup, also consider the rags only scored 4 goals less than us last season so it's not as if anyone can complain there was a big difference in number of team goals per minute played.

Got to agree with the OP.
Took his goal against Belgium very well as well.

Regardless of him playing in Stretford, he is a Manchester lad and we should be grateful of small mercies when it comes to the national team.

Wish City had picked up this Manchester lad.

We did

I didn't know that,why was he released?
Don't think he was ever on City's books tho apparently said he was rejected by City as a kid. Definitely with Utd from very young and there's a YouTube video of him being coached by Van Nistlerooy as a 13 year old.

-- Mon Jun 18, 2012 1:18 pm --

My sister is his first cousin. Been to his house and everything. She's a rag though, so she's quite joyous when he scores.
But you're not?

Dont think anyone has described him as "world class" or potentially world class but just because he plays for the rags doesnt make him shite.

Hes a good player he will never be a great one. There isnt too many English strikers ahead of him (which isnt hard).

I dont hate the lad the only problem is he plays for united, other than that he keeps his mouth shut (rare for a swamp player) and hes a manchester lad.

PS He didnt mean that goal but it doesnt matter how you get them in so long as you do

Can`t remember what paper it was, but I recall him saying how great it was u@d catching city last year and how terrible it would be to lose the league to City.
Makes me laugh now.

His dad is in the Army - bomb disposal expert apparently. He's called Stan.

I read something in the paper last week that said he was training with us age 7, but our coaches told his dad that he wasn't good enough.

Ancient history. Don't think it can be said we dropped a bollock letting him go.
