Welcome Matheus Nunes | Signing confirmed on a five-year deal

Looking forward to seeing how he fits in at City, and hopefully now we finally have the options that will allow us to rest Rodri more often. Even Txiki seems a bit underwhelmed by the signing though ;)

I’ll paraphrase;
He’s alright.
If anyone can make him half decent Pep will.
Look at Phillips.

Ok, I added the last line myself. Cheeky didn’t say that.

Said in the gossip thread in 12 - 24 months we'll be laughing our arse off that Arsenal spent £175m on Rice and Havertz and we spent £75m on this lad and Kova with another £100m for a long term DeBruyne replacement next summer.

Best squad management in world football at the moment.

Interview is up

I didn't realise how confident and well spoken this guy is. Seems super intelligent. It's a huge move from Wolves to City but he doesn't seem nervous at all which I love to see. Has that belief and fight in him which I see in Silva.

Wolves was a strange move but he'll love playing in this City team.

The questions on the other hand.

Why do people always look to a player as a replacement to a former outgoing one. Pep loves to evaluate new systems with the players at his disposal and makes players better within these systems.
What stays is the possession and pressing.

Anyways, welcome Nunes. Hopefully another one for Pep to make the lad better and smarter.
Yeah, a good squad of 16 or 17 hungry, versatile, technically excellent, disciplined footballers who can, if needed, play in multiple positions. Let Pep work out the rest. Seems to fit that profile entirely.

His stepdad is from Sunderland and helped him learn English as a youngster and develop his love for the Premier League.

“It would be in the mornings, because in Brazil, we were about four hours behind here in England, so in the weekend, every morning we would spend watching Sunderland on the TV,” he said.
