Fell asleep for mullers goal , he is never in position , he is good going forward but poor in defense

Played him offside and linesman got it wrong? Both of there goals were clearly offside.

Can't say I can agree with this unfourtunatly. I don't really understand why Aleks was captain last night. Personally didn't think he was the man for the job. Also people need to remember his primary job is to defend. He may have a decent left foot going forward but I don't think he is secure enough at the back. If you watch him he doesn't stick to a man as he is shocking one on one. He lacks pace and I think once clichey is back he will go straight back to the starting position.

Defending hasn't been the primary job of top-level fullbacks for about five or six seasons now.
Was just about to say the same thing.

He has his off days but has generally been excellent this season.

Isn't a captain selected on his personal traits rather than outright footballing ability?

And did he rise to the occasion on Tuesday or not?

Let's not knock all the time.

Wouldnt like him to leave..heres the article I read from mirror

Aleksandar Kolarov has opened the door to a move to Inter Milan by revealing his eagerness to return to Italy.

The Manchester City defender spent three years with Lazio before his 2010 move to the Etihad. He has 18 months left on his contract, but is unhappy at not being guaranteed a first-team place.

Inter’s new president Erick Thohir is planning a mid-season transfer spree, and sporting director Piero Ausilio watched Kolarov against Viktoria Plzen two weeks ago.

Napoli boss Rafa Benitez is also pondering a move for the Serb.

“I would love to return to the Italian league one day,” Kolarov, 28, said. “We will see when the time is right. I didn’t get to play matches when I expected to during Roberto Mancini’s time. I’ve been playing more since Manuel Pellegrini’s arrival. But let’s see what happens.”

Yeah old news that article now i reckon for him as he is playing a lot more and doing well.
He will sign an extension imo.

when he leaves I hope the boo boys (and yes there are enough sitting near me in SS2) don't say a word. Mancini made an error in not buying an established "defender" but Alex has done ok. Maicon and Boeteng proved Mancini had a weakness in assessing this position. I believe we've one decent fullback in the club and he is Zabba. I will give Richards time to come back but Cliche is not to up to it. I should add my comments are in reference to creating a team to challenge Real and Barca. Come back Kenny Clements and Willy Donachie.

I'm sure Boateng is gutted with his three medals from last year alone.

Great goal last night and excellent going forward however he was still found wanting in his defensive duties against a Championship team. He is a steady player but I wouldn't lose any sleep if he goes back to Italy. Use the money we'd get for him, prob £8 - £10 mill and put a bid in for Luke Shaw. Saints would be tempted with that, which may be a lot for an 18 year old but he would worth every penny. A defender who can attack and defend. Despite what others think, a defenders primary objective is to defend, hence prevent the opposition from scoring, not attacking. That is a secondary function, if you don't concede you don't get beat. Providing an extra attacking capability is necessary but not essential. Gael Clichy was our first choice left back when we won the league, he isn't fantastic going forward but he is a very accomplished defender.
