Well done Hughes

the 0.01% argument is absolutely ridiculous and I suggest you withdraw it. it's supremely arrogant to suppose that you are more informed than everyone else in such matters, and supremely arrogant to suggest that no-one else has any understanding of the 'learning curve'.

hughes did ok today, but he won't win anyone over until we start winning games again. as it stands, we are in a reasonable position in the league, after a run of poor results and frustrating performances. it's all about what happens between now and march/april. no amount of rhetoric, name calling, squabbling or bitching will make a blind bit of difference.

Can't believe some of the comments on here, I only hope it's passion getting in the way of reason. Otherwise some of our fans just don't have a clue about football.

Hughes got it absolutely right today. He picked the right team and made the subs.

Tactics. Bang on.
To those who say we were too negative, get a grip. You don't go to places like Anfield and score 4 goals before half time, it doesn't happen.

They were the home team, under some pressure and needing a win against genuine challengers for their top 4 spot. Did you think they were gonna let us walk through them?
Hughes managed it perfectly. Soak up a bit of pressure in the first half, shut the home crowd up, give Rafa sommat to think about.

The plan would have gone absolutely perfectly if Ireland had played Bellamy in on about 46 minutes. No one could legislate for Zab giving away a fucking stupid free kick a minute later leading to their goal - against the run of play.

The plan all along was to step it up in the second half, the goal just kick started it. Had they not scored first we would have won 2-0 or 2-1 comfortably.

Todays game just highlights to me that neither of our full backs in particular are good enough to play in a top 4 side. I don't like pointing the finger but Zabaleta has for a long time flattered to deceive and he has cost us two points today.

We've played two of the big 4 away now and could very easily have won both, although the rags tought us a lesson at times tbf. We should look at the positives and see the big picture. We are very much an improving side and we've only just got started.

Weel said, we contained the all through the first half . and for most if the second half we bossed liverpool, and played them off the park. And im gonna make a valid point here we DID IT AT ANfIELD. Its not a computer game of a cartoon, we dont go from poor to world beaters in one year, but we have doen something i dont remeber us doing ever.

and why cant i see what im typing, the creen keeps moving up. its really annoying

People are capable of forming an opinion on football thats different from yours without being influenced by computer games or cartoons. And I don't expect that anyone here who is critical of the performance expects us to be world beaters, let alone in the year that we are 18 months into.

I wish people would stick to issues, not try and prove a point by slinging as much mud as possible and making up stories about the motives of anyone who thinks differently to themselve.

No, i wont withdraw it, as you've clearly not read what i've posted.

...I started to explain what i had said but if you read it again you'll see i didnt actually say anything you've just accused me of.

I havent rated Hughes for his tactics to date but today he deserves some credit. Good tactical change without waiting too long and a decent team set up. A great result but in the context of again letting a lead slip it should have been better.
